Hi, I have just started at a new company which has a UK (me and one other) and Slovakia (team) based office.
We are a 3D company (big video files, 3ds Max, Photoshop) but dont have any means of all of us accessing the same network in once place. At the moment we all use FTP or just send individual files to each other - absolutely crazy really! As im sure most of you are aware usually with a company you have a network which everyone in the company is connected to share files and work from.
I have been put in charge or trying to get a way so we can all connect to the same network online and so we can save files instantly and to auto sync automatically - so no FTP or web browser based stuff. Basically something like a standard networking system in an inhouse company but online based between two countries?
My first thought was Dropbox as this will mean all of the current projects will be saved instantly (possibly work from Dropbox aswell?) and everyone will have access to them without having to mess about with FTP based software. Although Dropbox does have afew issues like not being able to all path the same Dropbox location and no way of stopping people from all working on the same file (one user access per file type thing)
Are there any other such programs / tools that will do the job?
Its getting very annoying with the current system so hopefully some genius out there has the answer!
