Hi All,

I know nothing about programming. I want to try to learn how to make simple programmes that could for example be used to make an automatic backup of some xtx or cfg files to a specific location. Is there such a thing as a piece of software under which I can make simple apps for the PC. Like free website builders only for programmes instead.

Microsoft release express versions of visual strudio for free. Plenty of support info on the net as well.

If its just simple backup/copying, surely a batch file that is set to run by scheduler would a lot simpler/easier?

It's a development Environment. It doesn't hold your hand as much as you might expect.
