Hi all,

Since purchasing a computer from overclockers I have had nothing but problems with programs failing to respond after a short period of time and blue screen errors.

The system I purchased was http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-246-OE

Programs I have had a lot of trouble with are

ConvertXtoDVD - Fails to respond often

Minecraft/Java - Would cause blue screen error (system_service_exception) and (kmode_exception_not_handled) however after updating my video drivers the program will usually just fail to respond at random periods.

Dragons Age Origins - Failed to respond every 5 minutes. (running in compatibility mode windows xp seems to help but it needs further testing)

DVD Flick - See ConvertXtoDVD

DxDiag - Crashed earlier today randomly

Bitdefender Windows 8 - Crashes whenever I attempt to run a full system scan.

I have also had the following blue screen errors at different times

kmode_exception_not_handled
system_service_exception

And the most recent

page_fault_in_nonpaged_area

I have tried the following fixes

- Full driver upgrade
- Ran Memtest86+ for 13+ hours (No errors)
- Ran the programs as admin and in compatibility mode
- Reinstalled the programs

I can post information from the event log and memory dumps? if someone could explain what exactly to post.

Any help at all would be very much appreciated.

Thanks :)

easy way to test it, is turn it off, and if a program isn't fully windows 8 compatible, there's nothing else to do other than don't use it, even if it comes bundled with win 8, tbh it's not very good either, there's better than defender out there.

but i'm guessing it's your OC tbh, go into bios and load default, run for a few days and see what happens, most of your problems don't seem to be OC fault either, but could be other issues etc

post a full error log so others can see it and reply to that.

ConvertXtoDVD - (program might not work fully with win 8)

Minecraft/Java - (game maynot support hardware or win8 fully)

Dragons Age Origins -(game maynot support hardware or win8 fully)

DVD Flick - (program might not work fully with win 8)

DxDiag - Crashed earlier today randomly (maybe card drivers etc or win 8 or some other mix in your setup)

Bitdefender Windows 8 - (might alos not like something in or on your pc) it happends

I am not sure, how can I check to see if it is running at 4.5 ghz?

I am very new to OC'ing, how do I turn it off? and I assume if I do I can easily turn it back on?

I hope that it can be fixed as I really need a decent DVD convertor that will create menus.

Ok here is an error log from earlier when ConvertXtoDVD crashed, if you want me to post anymore just say.

Here is something else I got, no idea what this means.

The shadow copies of volume C: were deleted because the shadow copy storage could not grow in time. Consider reducing the IO load on the system or choose a shadow copy storage volume that is not being shadow copied.

Also had several of these

Your computer was not assigned an address from the network (by the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address 0x3085A9F386C8. The following error occurred: 0x79. Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server.

There a few more errors under different sections as well.

Sounds like overclock issue to me,however you tried the obvious ie contacting OcUK,

Ok guys I ran Prime95 and got the following error (so far)

[Thu Jan 31 17:42:13 2013]
FATAL ERROR: Resulting sum was 8.679633922085389e+016, expected: 8.667196571725672e+016
Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file.

Since I have only had the computer a month I am assuming the next step is to contact overclockers support?

You guys were correct, it was an overclocking fault, I am getting sent new settings so hopefully that will fix it.

Thanks for the help all.
