programs pinned to task bar help ?

hi

I have a strange problem with some of my programs pinned to the task bar , certain icons like malwarebytes and google earth lose their picture and instead im left with the unidentified program file picture.

does anyone know what cause's this?

ive re installed the programs a few times but after a while it happens again, hope im making sense.

can anyone help?

You tried rebuilding the Windows icon cache?

Go into c drive then click organize > Folder and search option > view Tab > Tick show hidden files and folders then C:\Users\username\AppData\Local , there is the icon cache , delete it and restart

Skype does it when it installs a new version also.

Remove pin and re-pin when the app opens usually fixes it.
