Programs That Start On Windows Startup

How can you define what programs load when you start windows? you know what i mean, the ones that pop up in the menu bar in the bottom right corner, like messenger etc etc

drag a shortcut of the program into the startup folder within the start bar, or go to start-run-msconfig-startup and there are programs you can start with windows.

You can also mess about with the registry entries
at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
and HKEY_CURRENT_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run although I wouldn't recommend it without a backup and basic knowledge of what you're doing.

Click Start.
Click Run.
Type msconfig (in the box)
Click Ok.
Click Start up.
Job Done.

Definitely worth checking out Winpatrol too. It will alert you whenever something tries to autorun on your system.
