***Programs u couldnt live without!***

Many people cant live without their mobile phones, me being one. I thought i'd attempt to start a thread based around programs/software that us users couldnt live without and why? The thread will probably fall rapidly to the depths of the forum but before it does hopefully we will all learn of some new ones to add to our lists. Here are mine...

1. Speedfan - Essential to keep an eye on those temps and fans!
2. Prime95 - Testing for stability.
3. Ultramon - dual screen goodness
4. Cyberlinks PowerCinema - The dogs danglies for tv/media.
5. Winamp - just music

There must be more but i cant remember them atm, i'll add them when i get home

No idea why I love startup control panel, possible because it doesn't have to be installed, worked on any windows OS and just does what it's meant to do very neatly and quickly. Mike Lin ***!

Netlimiter - control that bandwidth (as a Plusnet Customer, this is very useful)

Ultramon. I'm hoping Vista removes my reliance on this great utility.

I'm inclined to say Winamp as well, as I've been using it since it was in beta, but technically I _could_ live with out it as there's lots of other decent music players.

Ah, how could i forget Photoshop. And i should probably add 3D studio max to my list as well.

Most of the software already listed can easily be replaced with an alternative so I don't really think they can be classed as "couldn't live without!". I even thought about MSN Messenger for communicating with friends but then I realised there was plenty of alternatives like Gaim, Miranda IM, telephone, etc so I doubt I have any.

My favourite applications at the moment are:

1) Eclipse - Open source development IDE.
2) 7-Zip - Open source archiver with support for RAR.
3) OpenOffice - Open source office suite that handles MS Office files well.
4) WMP10 - Used for organizing my media library.
5) Nero 6 Reloaded - My favourite CD creating software.
6) Firefox - Mostly due to AdBlock facility for surfing that's easier on the eye.
7) nLite - Used to create XP installation CD's with hotfix integration.
8) FoxIt PDF Viewer - Alternative to Adobe Reader, less bloat.
