Progress for my licence.

Hi all, a little update!!

Since I last posted I have done 8 hours of riding. 6 hours on a GS500 and today I did 2 hours on an 12 plate ER-6n. The ER is amazing, soooo easy to ride compared to the GS and the GS is a doddle to ride!.

The only mistake today was I did stall it twice on the 1 roundabout as I mis-judged the throttle etc but overcame that quickly and safely. I really am enjoying getting out and riding, its such a rebellious feeling even doing 30mph hehe.

Next Friday I have one more 2 hour lesson to top off getting some experience on the roads (bare in mind I do not drive a car) and then the Saturday I have my DAS.

And last but not least I had 2 snods today! Whooo hooo!!! :) I even shouted out 'yeah my first snod' like a little boy :-P Thanks to the two snodder's, I was around Bedford today.

Any ways off to work and then a train to Scotland so no sleep untill saturday night.... painful.... :(

Thanks,

Brackish.

Another update!

MOD 1 = PASSED! :D

What a day today! got 1 minor and was told it took me just under 10 minutes so really chuffed today, next up is mod 2 on thursday.....

Nice one. For all the effort I put into getting MOD passed it did shoot by very quickly.

That's the "hard" one out of the way, now all you have to do is ride a motorbike with a human sat nav shouting into your ear and you've passed.

WUT !!! :D

Well done mate & I can confidently tell you that the hard part is over. Mod 2 is an easier test in my opinion as you just go out for a ride like you're with your Instructor.
Good Luck anyways.

All 3 of us posted at the same time & said the same thing. :p

Ahh but you see I found the MOD 1 too easy!!

Its Mod 2 that I have minor concerns about as I am not a car driver my road awareness and judgement are my weak points.

Google map this: Wykham lane, Broughton.

Then look at the crossroads on that A361 left of the map marker point. That major to minor is the scariest place! Where you stop for the right major to minor is the start of the hills decent and the there is just no space at all. (well for me as a learner).

But I will not let that stand in my way! I will pass! I have to be one of those people who pass the bike tests that do not drive a car!!:D

HAHA on the timing guys!

I don't think so took me 4 times to pass my MOD2 extreme bad luck maybe? Complete rip of for the MOD2 from my pov :(

I wont give up trying untill I pass MOD 2!

Did you have you car licence and was driving a car before your bike licence stiv?

One way to look at it, by not having a car licence you haven't got x amount of years bad road habits to knock out of yourself.

No brackish but i had been riding for around 9 months before just bad examiners I think plus I only took one lesson but my instructor said I was fine, still managed to fail 3 times :(

Thats a good point EllioR.

We had to wait for the site access manager to arrive at the Silverstone race track so we could get on with the MOD1 and I found I could just ignore my nerves with the long wait. Then arrives the very smiley and cheerful Graham (examiner and DSA manager for Banbury test centre) so we moved into the testing area and then arrives a random instructor from another school and his minions.... First up... ME!! oh how I was so relieved! First up is a good thing for me! I finish the test, go park up and Graham walks over and asks Will to gear up and get his paper work ready. My face dropped! I so badly needed to know my result there and then. But then Graham turns round, looks at me with a face straighter than a straight thing thats straight and thumbs up me, I then let out a huge 'Yeah!' and got a round of applause.

Sorry to go on but it is such a good feeling knowing that I am less than 1 hours riding from my licence and that fact I will get my bike licence before my car licence!

Ok my blabbering ends here! :)

Indeed. I honestly think learning to ride first before driving gives you a much better road manner as you have to look out a lot more to keep yourself safe.
