I have been using my 750D for around a year now and have been feeling the upgrade itch for the past month or so. I had been keeping a very close eye on the 80D and the best deals I have seen have been second hand on the bay for between £600-£700. I then stumbled across a 77D on the rainforest's warehouse for £500. Opinions on which one is better are mixed with a slight favour towards the 80D however most of these were down to the price point of 77D with most reviewed prices being around £800 so I'm wondering does the £500 for a pretty much brand new model (most likely open box return) represent better VFM over a £650 second hand 80D.
FYI, I only do stills (mostly landscapes) no video so the video benefits of the 80D aren't really important to me.

Any advice fully welcomed!

Well that's a point I guess, are either even a significant step up from the 750D? There would always be an argument to save up and buy something better still.

what lenses do you have if you arent heavily into ef-s lenses go for a used 5d mk2 or something full frame for your landscapes , that being said id go 80d . battery lasts more shots has 1 more fps and i "think" has a bit more dynamic range and the viewfinder offers 100% frame coverage i believe

750d and 80d have the same sensor so you will see pretty much no difference in pictures especially shooting RAW and I don''t think fps and focus points are enough to justify the cost for someone just starting out and shooting mainly landscape.

Save or buy lenses would be my advice! It's to easy to get sucked into camera upgrades which in reality will make little difference to your pictures compared to study, practice and PP.

All sound advice, and I think the last few points are what I'll do. If I continue to develop my interest I will most probably go full frame in the future, at present any full frame options that I can realistically afford i.e. 5D Mkii or 6D Mki do not represent much of an overall upgrade for the cost given their age. I have been upgrading my lenses recently, including a Tamron SP 70-300mm EF lens so I will phase out my EFS lenses for EF over time so that a jump to full frame won't be as big a hit when it happens. I also sold my Canon 18-135mm which was an excellent lens but I bought a second hand Sigma f2.8 17-70 and it has to be the best lens I've used to date, it has definitely helped me improve.

My advice is not o buy lenses for a camera you don't have, but for the camera you own. Who knows when you will actually upgrade. This is especially important for general purpose wlak about lenses. A 24-70/105 just doesn't makes sense on crop, stick to the 17-55mm type lenses. There isn;t much point in selling off crop lenses early. Prices of lenses are just as likely to go up as down, you certainly wont risk loosing much. Only when you buy your FF should you sell off your crop kit.

Depends on the features you want , Sure a 5DMKII wont have wifi and low light is questionable but going FF for 'cheap' is well worth losing some of the modern luxuries.
Getting a few decent primes will help in the right direction, but again putting them on a FF camera would ways be my priority given the limitations with crop censors.

Definitely agree with this especially when dealing with second hand lenses someone else has already taken the depreciation hit and I'd much rather a dedicated crop general purpose zoom than a full frame one on a crop body primes and telephotos not so much though.
