Project Alternate

I was looking at the Philips BDM4065UC 40" 4k.

Would you say this is better?

im not 100% sure, but it think there both have the same screen?
TBH i would go with the Philips, as you have more support & warranty, less chance of getting one with a bad screen also.

I had the BenQ 32" 4k before this one, & the screen looked about the same as the new 40",
only swapped as I needed a massive screen due to the size of my build.
thought the "why not 3 screen" people would leave me alone,
Didn't work tough lol

Yeah, that was my concern over buying one of the AMH. Returning it would be a massive pain in the event of dead pixels etc.

It does have full HDMI 2.0 which the Philips doesn't however; But I don't need 60hz for my non-gaming applications.
30hz should be fine for work / admin from my Laptop / Surface pro 3.

cant you use display port instead?
im not using the HDMI on this yet, but will test it out with the xbone one day.

I can, but I want my surface pro 3 and my main PC and my work laptop to be able to display on it. (I don't ask for much) haha!

Anyway, I'll stop hijacking your thread now!

Absolutely amazing project log - give the man a prize! :)

Gobsmacked! - so much energy and enthusiasm to have the patience to stick with this project over the months it has taken you.

Really good job and looks amazing - wish I had the determination and patience to do something like this :)

thanks a lot mate :)
did need a fair bit of patience,
but im happy with the results & feel my time was well spent.

the feedback on this build has been fantastic, if you dont count all the screen & AMD comments lol

This is literally all over the Internet in the computer world. Well done dude. It looks epic.

Big congrats from me!

BIG thanks from me!
Yeah its been doing very well on the web, I don't think iv seen all the pages yet, been trying to keep up with the comments/questions best i can.

just done some interviews for ASUS, hope they read well because grammar is definitely not my strong point lol

Been a bit busy over the past month, but im back now :)
I recently got the 2 finaly items for the build from Cooler Master, a CM Storm Xornet 2 gaming mouse & Swift RX mat.
Cheap mouse! £20 or less...

Couple of photos for you to have a look at & iv also uploaded a quick hands on video.

also over the past week my new screen has arrived, I liked the 40" 4K screen so much that iv now gone for a 43" 4K.

I cant go any bigger than this, as it will cause some neck problems in the long term lol
Its a better fit for the desk also, as it now spans the total length of the centre top shelf.

More photos on that & other bits later.

not 100% sure i could play games or even use my computer on that build. its so stunning i would be staring at it for hours every time i turned it on.

Man that's just making the setup complete, like the look of that mouse.

Its not as mean looking as i would have liked lol , but its a better match for the desk than any of my others, mostly because its mat black & has the RGB

I've not been here for a while, it was worth the trip, absolutely stunning, well done :)

glad you made it back,
Thanks mate :)

I thought you was going to end that sentence with "its S***" or something on them lines lol
Thanks a lot Craig, I still get a bit of a buzz when I first walk in my room & see it & now & then I run my hands up & down the side covers :D
