Project BlackMamba

I think you build will be fine for gaming dude but I agree with everyone else that the i7 or i5 is the only real choice at the mo for gaming SLI etc.

Many less experienced builders see higher GHz as faster, but this is simply not the case. It's what the processor is able to do with each clock cycle that counts.

It's much like cameras too, people see 14MP and instantly assume that it must be better than 8MP (mainly because this is pretty much the only camera spec that is advertised with mobile phones etc..). They forget about the lens, internals, size & quality of the CCD etc..

Thanks walder I got my GPU's today and my fan controller and thermal paste and my HDD so nearly ready to start but still damn you amazon logistics many thanks BM

Information update the build now has an unplanned colour theme yellow, black and red. Black is the main colour Red is secondary and last there is a splash of yellow for good measure so it's a pleasant surprise what do you guys think about the colour scheme many thanks BM

Yeah colour scheme could work OK - as long as there is not too much yellow, like you said a splash of yellow will look fine. You could always respray whatever this splash of yellow is if you don't like it?

WOW that's some spec you've got there mate. I'm running an FX-8350 with a single 7970 Matrix and I totally love it. Yeah it might not be as fast as an Intel powered rig, but then I didn't have the extra the Intel rig would have cost me. Really looking forward to seeing this come together, make sure you keep us all updated with your progress and get some pictures up asap ;)

Again another small update got the motherboard ssd h100i and windows 8.1 today so I'm very pleased about that only waiting for CPU PSU and the RAM so if all goes well pictures could be up by tomorrow many thanks BM p?so how do I upload pictures

Sadly guys it looks like pics will have to wait going on holiday on Wednesday and am missing the ram and psu so if no pics are uploaded today sorry about it but the will be uploaded in three weeks when I'm back many thanks BM

Nope sorry to disappoint I don't really know why I named it BlackMamba it just suits the idea. I was by Newcastle on the way here and was thinking of dropping by overclockers shop sadly I was in the wrong end and it's nice here this is my first time back in five years so it's a bit of a change many thanks BM

I have a h100 that I stuck another couple of fans on (not noctua though), reduced temps by few degrees. The most noticeable difference is that decreased the noise quite a bit, I found the stock fans a bit too loud. Look forward to seeing the pictures.
