ok so my project has gone off track due to being so darn busy i've decided to start on the water cooling i've got a black ice 240 stealth and the idea was to cool an i7 920 and a 5870 on that rad i don't think it'll be enough (i wasn't looking for the best temps) i have a 120 stealth i can add is this enough bearing in mind i'm not looking for the best?

If it helps I'm cooling a Phenom II X6 1055T and 4870x2 on a XSPC RS240 and a EK 120mm rad.
Temps aren't fantastic, I'm thinking of switching the 120mm for another 240mm rad to try to improve things. Might also switch out the 4870x2 for a 5870 (I figure less GPU cores to cool should help?). Still the temps aren't awful.

After playing Bad Company 2 for, an hour or so (I lose track), the CPU got to 46C or something like that, mid-40s. Hottest GPU got to 52C or something like that, high-40s/low-50s.

who said you can't use a dremel
P1000494.jpg

diamond edged dremel disc did the job it didn't melt the plastic and was cool to the touch after.

some more dremel action made the corners rounded with a sander disc and made the edge smooth.

used a paint stripper heat gun to bend it, need to do some mounting holes.

could do with a bit more work but that's all i'm doing today.

Possibly a bit late now, but I'd use a thicker radiator. Something like a Thermochill Pa120.2 or Ta120.2, a HWLabs Black Ice SR1 240 or an XSPC RX240 should do well - they have less fins per inch (<10), so don't require such a high fan speed for good cooling, which will result in a quieter system.

Alternatively, for maximum cooling (for your build), go for a Phobya Xtreme 200, which is a single 200mm radiator for the roof, as well as one of the aforementioned, or a high FPI radiator with some quick fans with high static pressure.

Hey bud I can send you the color code for the paint I mixed that matches yours and mines sleeveing so you can paint that radeon like I did!

thanks for the offer, there is no need i'm putting a water block on it :D

the plan is to get thicker rads but the ones i have will have to do for now.
i've looked at the phobya 200mm rad but i'm not sure.
