Here's my baby all lit up:

The blue lights on these are the power LED and supreme xfi soundcard respectively. I might look into swapping LEDs in these parts of the case at a later date.

I remember attempting my first case mod painting it silver. It ended up in the bin.

About the colours, I've seen another project log recently where a guy removed the blue LED from an Asus bundled soundcard and replaced it with a red one. From memory under the casing there isn't really a lot of circuitry so it shouldn't be too hard.

On my Republic of Gamers board I can just unplug the glowing logo, or alternatively turn it off in the bios. I don't think it looks too bad against the red though!

Thanks guys! It turned out to be quite a quick process in the end. So I heartily recommend anyone that has a spare few evenings and weekend to have a go. Be warned though, the rattlecan approach is not a hard wearing finish. I had to be very careful with mine when re-assembling, even after several coats of lacquer.
