Project Cars, Assetto Corsa or Dirt Rally

Give The Crew a try.

Very early nfs in the way the cars drive and look. Not so much a track racer, but there's many point to point open road races, aka nfs in the early days.

absolutely, plays really lovely now on controller. If you install it, give me a shout if you need my controller settings.

Great will give it another go sometime :)

I might finally be tempted to give the online a go, at least I will be able to keep the cars on the track. Hopefully they have sorted the massive oversteer out too.

Don't worry about the controller settings, unless you post them here as a few others have asked for them I will check back here in case you do for when I get round to putting the game back on.

This and TDU 2 if you just wanna cruise around

Euro Truck simulator 2 might be worth a look

NfS Porsche was great. Need for Speed Hot Persuit (the 2010 one) is also kind of similar and generally a pretty good arcade racer.

If you are more interested in cruising about, TDU2 is good but I think it is offline only now. The Crew is slightly worse, and has slightly more "social media" bs in the way.

Here you go guys, my settings for 360 controller.

Steering deadzone - 0
Steering sensitivity - 20 ( I use this for slower cars....as you race faster cars reduce this number)
Throttle deadzone - 0
Throttle sensitivity - 30
Brake deadzone - 12
Brake sensitivity - 15
Clutch deadzone - 0
Clutch sensitivity - 40

Speed sensitivity - 75
Controller filtering sensitivity - 50
Force feedback 100

Controller mode - 3
Advanced - on

Cheers, I'll have a go with this later on.

My wheel is too loud to use at night, so I really want to be able to use a controller sometimes!

As above.
You won't have fun nor will you be "good" on PC, AC or DR with a keyboard.

DIRT 3 and GRID Autosport on the otherhand I've won a few small tournaments using keyboard only :D (Though everybody had to use keyboard so it was an equal playing field)

I'd also suggest Dirt 3 and Grid Autosport, both can be picked up for peanuts.

Never would I dream about playing on a keyboard though!

I got TDU2 and the 2010 NFS on a keys site and Dirt3 on Steam.

Picked up an Xbox 360 controller as well, since most of you moaned about that. I suppose I can finally play Dark Souls too now.. :D

Thanks!

The crew is an underrated game IMO. They've done a real good job of replicating america. A friend who lives there said he spotted the building in the game where he and his wife got married. It's an arcade racer, but the scenery is just beautiful in places with the sunsetting and purple/yellow skies as you race down from new york to florida. I really enjoyed it. You've got icy mountain roads, cities and desert in this game. It's really quite relaxing just crusing along and doing the tasks on the way which you come across. Took me by surprise and i've played all the racing games mentioned in this thread.
