Got the artist down tonight for the initial quotation after he inspects the case in person. Expect a post for info on when we can look forwards to seeing some development on this project :)

Wish i had this case. or £300 for an artist :D but, this looks to be an epic build :)

I'm currently trying to find artwork I can use on the case. Whipped up an email to Bethesda to see if they will grant me permission to use Skyrim artworks, also looking for anyone who can draw to make me some too.

Edit made to first post to show current artwork ideas. The artist is going to mock me up a Photoshop version of the case so with permission I'll post it up on here. Feel free to give opinions guys :D

Looking forward to see what you do with the old girl :)

Haha, well she already had a blessing from some Mayhem's Aurora coolant when I forgot to attach a hose :D

I'm hoping to have some Photoshop mock-ups done for this weekend or in the coming week, along with an updated price for the more complex artwork and all the radiators. I am, maybe to your dismay, going to loose the Angels (I suppose I should rename the project) during the paint job. I want the new artwork to cover the entire side panels, more because it will give me some hiding space for a mess of cables at the bottom, but also for aesthetic appeal.

The case, along with rad's, fans and DVD drives, are now with the artist. Looking at a work time of around 1 month and a price tag around the £400-£500 mark.

If a mod see's this, can you change the title of this thread to "Project Dovahkiin" instead of "Project Angel". Many thanks :)

Made some changes to the OP to better describe the project with my new theme. I'll mention this here too for those who TL : DR :D:

Anyone happen to have some info on when the 8GB GTX690 will be released?

Quick update.

I've taken a reasonable loan out with the bank which is going to provide me with enough capital to fund this build without having to wait a month or more at a time just to make one upgrade.

I'm thinking to purchase the 7970 GPU's for this build, but I'm going to post in "GPU's" first to see what the opinions are. If anyone of you know what is better, 2x 7970 3GB cards or 2x 2GB 680 cards feel free to post :)

GPU's, 2x 7970's purchased at 0721 this morning, email to confirm shipping at 1105 :D

I'll have them tomorrow but will be holding of installing the water blocks until I start on the main build. I'll get some pictures up tomorrow of the unboxing, installation and some epic skyrim shots.

Also on a side note my new headphones arrived today, Corsair Vengeance 1500. For those interested, the virtual surround imaging is pretty immersive, far superior to my old Razer headphones which used individual drivers. Stereo imaging of music is pretty good too for the price bracket, although they do lack quite a bit of depth in the bottom end. The sound stage is very open, and it's quite easy to pick out all the instruments in heavy metal. However, compared to the Grado GS1000i cans, they simply don't reach par :D

So, I've had quite a bit of fun today. Firstly when I opened the parcel I realised that I had ordered the incorrect 7970's and backplates, so I ordered two more cards. Later in the day, I got wind on the forum of a "24 Hour Deal" on 7970's which for me meant £100 less than I just spent, a quick call with the OcUK sales team had the whole mess sorted, I got an RMA for the cards I have with me now and the last order was cancelled.

I'll have the next set of cards by Thursday with any luck, but I couldn't help but take a nosy at these ones given they weren't sealed :D:

Small update, I finally have the 7970's which will be used in the build. They are the Radeon X-Edition 7970 3GB cards.

There is an issue right away with these cards, they hit 94c playing BF3, very bad. For now I have clocked them back to 950Mhz on the core to reduce temps (Not tested how effective that was yet) until I can get them under water in two weeks or so.

The next update will have some pictures of the case with part of the artwork done, hopefully sometime this week. I should have the case back by the end of the month, or failing that first week of next. I'll be very busy around that time, so build progress is going to be limited to weekends, however seen as my only task is to build the thing having had someone else do the hard work I shouldn't imagine it to take more than a week.

Thanks to those who have subbed :)

So, I've been talking with the artist again today, and I have decided to use some different pictures....
