Project: Drunk Parvum!

Didn't think about not using the 80mm fans. It's either clear tubing with dyed coolant and the EK pump/res or coloured tubing, clear fluid and the pump/top and separate res (got kit for both configurations).

Am leaning towards the EK pump/res combo will be using an acetal/nickel gpu block so a little bit of black can be the third colour.

Ahh yeah if you have an acetal block that will work nicely. I'm not really fond of many 80mm fans and unless you were using something like Redux's that have a matching 80mm it's not gonna look that great.

Disappointed that i didn't get to see this message :L

You didn't miss much :D

Green sleeved cables -

Rads flushed and installed -

Testing fans -

Just need my package to arrive tomorrow now !

How thick is the top radiator? Would you have space for the fitting at the top of the front rad to have a 45 or 90deg rotary fitting?

They are 40mm thick, 90deg doesn't fit but 45 do, just, have actually put a 45 on the top rad and one on the front rad.

Oh nice - I was looking to build my first custom loop in my S2 after Christmas and was looking for a thick rad in the top and a thinner in the front - still got planning to do!

This is looking rather damn good.

But it does need more dump trucks.

What are people's thoughts on fan orientation ? Intake on the front rad and exhaust on the top rad and rear 80mm fans ? Or intake on both front and top rads ?

I would test both but I would guess that double intake would be better as then your top rad isn't using warmed air from the front rad.
I tested a similar idea in my H440 and ended up with 5x120mm on rads in and 1x140mm out.

Got a delivery :D

Suitably coloured memory -

New beast of a gpu -

And a block and back plate -

The new mobo I plan to spray the armor white -

And finally yet another pump and res option -

Naked 980 and naked mobo -

980 with block and backplate on -

Next job is attempt to spray the mobo armor White !

Armor back on mobo -

The block -

And all in the case -

Everything was going far too smoothly especially for my bodgit and hope method of building computers. It doesn't fit ! No matter which way around I work it there just isn't enough room :(

So here we are -

Looks ok I suppose ! For now.

What wouldn't fit the giant green fittings? Can the res go infront of the radiator next to the door? It looks like it would fit, kinda.

The res fits fine, it's the White rads, with fittings on they either don't allow me to attach the roof, don't alliw me to attach the 8 pin cable, or don't fit against the mobo armor. I tried all combinations of the fittings I have :(

the shield been white dose look very nice, need a white back plate on the gfx?
why is it the Drunk parvum? was you drunk at point of ordering? becuae if that how it works ever upgrade i ever did was a drunk one :D

Did think about a white backplate but thought it might be too much now I'm using black rads I'm gonna add a black and green 80mm fan hopefully it will look ok.

And lol yeah seemed like a good idea after too much Stella :D

This build has been a nightmare ! After the issue of the White radiators not fitting with the fittings I had chosen I have today had two faulty EK pump/res devices. An XRES 140 D5 combo and the DDC version both had a leak in the same place.

I tried multiple different fittings, normal compression, 45 and 90 degree angle, new o rings, and they both always leaked in the same place. Really frustrating.

Anyway am now using the DDC pump with a bits power top and separated res. have been leak testing the loop for about an hour and so far so good -

Isn't that port of the reservoir recessed inside a hole? You need to use the supplied adapter otherwise the o-ring is just sat in fresh air, it will never seal on the back edge of the fitting.
