So ive decided to make that step from console to PC been an enthusiastic PC fan for years but never had the time to make my own rig.

This wont be anything fancy but means a lot to me so im gonna post a step by step progress report here.

So here goes.

BitFenix Neos ATX Tower Black/Red

Asus Radeon R9 280X DirectCUII TOP 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

AMD A10-6800K Black Edition 4.10GHz

Thats it so far soon to order the rest of my parts and get the build underway :)

Hope this works out well for you Phonic, your in the rite place for any help you need
& you cant beat a having a gaming PC :)

UPDATE****

So ive finalised my basket with help from a friend and the OCUK forums

Thats the rest of the stuff anything here that does not compliment the build well or is it looking spiffy?

Personally I'd spend less on the CPU cooler and get a Haswell i5 instead, but since you already have the CPU you could still spend less on the cooler and get an SSD with the money saved :)

I forgot to add the SSD shoot glad you pointed that out, will add the SSD now too thanks Nuclear, well i went to the AMD event at OCUK last week and won the processor and spent 149.99 on the Graphics card so i saved a heck of a lot on that.

Oh fair enough, can't fault getting the CPU for free! No problem about the SSD, all the computers in our house apart from my Dad's work laptop have been upgraded to SSDs- I can't go back to using a HDD now :)

Was looking to get this for the SSD, Considering getting windows 8, just said in the description it required windows 7 thats all

I've heard stuff about how Kingston switched to a different cheaper type of NAND (without openly saying so) which results in dramtically lower performance than published speeds with some SSDNow drives (not sure if that particular one is affected). I came across it in the customer reviews of the V300 from the rainforest place when I was looking for a cheap 60Gb SSD for my parents PC. For a little more, my vote would go for this, with over twice the capacity and Crucial is known for its reliability :)

Or for more still, the 840 Evo is a great SSD for the price. It costs more than the MX100 but performs somewhat better- I have one in my parents PC :)

No problem, I always go for Samsung and Crucial SSDs myself as both are famed for their reliability (Intel are also very good but generally cost more). Check out the storage drives section of the forums if you want more in depth info and stuff :)

+1 for a Samsung SSD

I have been using a Mach Xtreme Turbo for over a year now which I have found to be very good, it has served me well. I only use it to boot from (apart from a few drivers and core programs) but it is very fast and hasn't let me down yet. I have also used a few Kingston SSD's and can't fault them.
