i wanted to see how much i would get for my 7970 so i listed it on a website (i guess its against the rules to say where) and i got a fairly good amount so i think i will be upgrading, but cant decide what to :(. for now im stuck with this

Looks great :)

As for your GPU upgrade, one of Inno3D's iChill 780s (if you can fit it into your budget) would look great in there with its big white LED on the front.
 
For now my budget is arround £330, the 290 seems perfect for the price if it wasn't for the heat and sound issues, is the Inno 3d a reference pcb ?. As for the looks I'm not that fussed, I want something I can watercool in a years time which is future proof.
 
I believe it is a reference PCB, but rather too much over budget. Would look great though...But a 290 does seem ideal. You just have to put up with a bit of noise for a while - could be worse, right?

By the way, if you want to get rid of that eyesore of a debug code LED on Gigabyte's motherboards (the one on my Sniper M5 annoyed the hell out of me), stick a square of duct tape over it. The light is so bright the code will still be visible, but it won't give off any light.
