Today, i've almost finished the shroud, need to let the glues fully dry before i continue with it.
Need to fill some gaps and then seal the pyrite nuggets into the shroud.

Fred as always helping out.

Minor update today

Using 24ct gold leaf, i covered the front logo to make it stand out more.*
It's a little rough due to the gold leaf*being incredibly difficult to work with on an embossed logo.
Will be much easier for sponsor logo's later.*

Looking great so far dude, that paint finish is stunning! Definitely better with the Cooler Master logo done in gold leaf as well, it needed something on a panel that large. Can't wait to see how this one progresses :)

The pyrite nugget infill of the logo is a brilliant idea. Something a little out of the ordinary compared to the usual case build finishing touches.

Flicked through this lastnight and forgot to leave a comment, but oh my god that finish on the paintjob is beautiful. Is the tubing or liquid itself going to be all white or will some gold be thrown in the mix too? Just imagining a loop similar to Smirnoff Gold Flakes although that would clog pretty quick :p

Now that is one pretty damn sweet idea, I'm imagining pastel white coolant with some of this added... Not sure if it would work but gotta be worth 10 minutes testing :D

Can't say I'm in love with the pyrite logo in the flesh, but it's great to see something different and unusual in a build.

Great stuff!

That's okay, not going to be everyone's cup of tea :)

I'm going with mayhems pastel white, with 24ct gold plated fittings. You won't see too much of the 16mm PETG tubing, so it should SHOULD look good lol.

i did originally want the concentrated gold, but it contains a gold dye too, which would just turn the while pastel to gold :( Too much gold if i did that.

Pastel White + Aurora Gold is fate, surely?

Do it. DO EEEEET :D

Pastel white and 24ct gold plated fittings. :p

Just go full on mental and put Krugerrands in the centre of the fans ;) :p

Seriously though its a cool build and that pearl white paint job is fantastic!

Sure, just let me save up another 6 grand for the fans haha
Thanks, hope you like the final look :)

Very nice looking so far, some very nice ideas and workmanship. Really like the idea of the pearl/gold paint and set in pyrite, 24ct gold etc.

Look forward to how this turns out :)

Thank you, i'm eager to see the final look myself, at the moment it's all up in my head :p

Watercooling is finally in the UK, got an actual date now, (Monday)
So i thought i'd share some pictures of the painting at it's white coat (before the gold was added)
and some other pictures of the finished stuff in a more accurate lighting.

Updates!!

i've begun work on the parts i want gold that cannot be gold plated.

So first things first, i stripped down the CPU block
DSC_0009_zpsr10a1do6.jpg

I then prepped the block with a white coat before going over with gold. This was to allow the gold to be lighter.
DSC_0010_zpsvffpciww.jpg

DSC_0012_zps9rm8j8m6.jpg

i then went ahead with the gold on the block head
DSC_0015_zpsh1pyidex.jpg

Once dried, it cleaned up really nice

DSC_0031_zpsys9l6c2k.jpg

i kind of liked the stands in white, so i've kept them white, will need another white coat later tonight, but not rushed

DSC_0046_zpshl1s48yz.jpg

I also done the reservoir top and bottom using the same technique.
DSC_0051_zpschcm0np1.jpg

Radiators are up next, but will need to do this another night.
So far i'm impressing myself with this.

Clear silicon mold will be made for the ''ACOOL'' logo on the CPU block to allow it to really brighten up.

BIG UPDATE!

This weekend i spent 7 hours, gold plating all the fittings from Alphacool.
7 HOURS!!! I was feeling exhausted by 2am this morning.

So here's the fittings
DSC_0029_zps73hq7nra.jpg

Chrome stripping took the longest, so i didn't video the whole process.
DSC_0035_zpsd7j6g5sw.jpg

After chrome stripping them, we left them in water to avoid oxidisation.
DSC_0034_zpsw7ovajp6.jpg

We got bored doing them 1 by 1
DSC_0041_zpsneodu27f.jpg

So once they were all stripped properlyt and the chrome had gone leaving a yellowish nickle colour, it was time to start the exciting part

update: Watercooling

It's been a little while, but everything is here now and i can crack on and get this build finished over the next week.

GPU Block arrived
DSC_0015_zpsetdkr2qq.jpg

DSC_0016_zpsohgile1v.jpg

I started getting the loop lined up using scrap tubes, to get the size right.

DSC_0017_zpszdfi0kuv.jpg

DSC_0020_zpsc7rmqarc.jpg

DSC_0023_zpsq6bq6l0q.jpg

Next thing i done was re-spray the GPU block to a nice shiney gold to match the CPU Block.

DSC_0028_zpsigsticjw.jpg

DSC_0033_zpsmzivl0c3.jpg

DSC_0039_zps5u1nfgbg.jpg

i then messured and cut a 20mm hole out of the shroud for the passthrough.

DSC_0040_zpsa6tn8uy1.jpg

DSC_0041_zpsae7pr8pd.jpg

DSC_0042_zps9wenzmpj.jpg

Now that was done, i needed to fill the loop and test for leaks.

Been working with the block, and loop to perfect it.
Here's what i've done last night.

Added White to the logo's on the GPU block to make it stand out a little better.
17016039_1304680256247704_6452443125000713450_o_zpsxho6hohn.jpg

Shined everything up
17038721_1304680306247699_1864234967506079175_o_zpsnnwzslst.jpg

And made the fools gold passthrough a little deeper
17016874_1304680329581030_6001801167475044243_o_zpss0plh8gd.jpg

Today i will work on the window frame, and currently marking the progress at 65% complete.
