This was a brilliant game when it was released, but I'm wondering if there are any modern day versions of the game?

I played Project IGI 2 but it didn't have the same feel. Any ideas?

IGI 2 was shocking. One of the funniest promo vids of all time though (the devs were drunk if I remember right and the vid was of them playing the game).

Not sure what to recommend. There isn't really anything that followed the IGI open world stealth / fps formula. About the closest you will get to it is probably crysis? I hate to say it but perhaps even Far Cry 2. That was terrible though. You could look at Hidden and Dangerous 2 but that is about as old as IGI lol.

Such a brilliant game, been wondering if I have time to run through it again.. was absolutely amazing and can't think of anything like it. Far Cry 2 is close but I didn't find it particularly stealthy and infact playing it stealthy seemed to put you at a huge disadvantage unfortunately.

I guess sorta similar would be Delta Force but again thats going back quite a while aswell.

That was one of the three games that made my Voodoo 5 64mb say enough is enough! I had to upgrade to a new card to play those new generation tech games, ended up buying the limited edition ATi 8500 64mb and it played them pretty well.
Great games, both of them.

Not like IGI per se, but if you like the sneaking around and interacting with the environment style, try Hitman Blood Money (Cheap on Steam this weekend if you're quick!).

Hitman aint a bad suggestion... As for crysis I have done both normal and warhead :D

I get the sense I can just run through crysis though, no real tactics needed.

igi 2 was actually a brilliant game. I remember being able to turn thermal vison on and shoot the enemies through the walls . That so freaking cool.

Some massive range firefights. Lots and lots of stealth. Geez I'd love to play it again but I know the graphics would make me want to cut myself :(

Gay. Doubt it'll run on vista 64 either?

Deus Ex was the same situation for me, kept crashing on XP. Two great games, two unworking games :(

I want Arma 2 to come out with CQB maps like Afganistan... that will be awesome. One pack is due out next year I think.

Awesome game, was in the beta test way back when. The omission of quick-saves made you actually think about the mission at hand before just running in with the 'spray & pray' tactic that is prevalent these days.
