Project K - TJ07

I decided to only put fans on one side of the 480mm rad in the bottom but that was because I was putting my pump down there.

If you are worried about 90 degree fittings fouling your fans, you could use something like this to make the fitting clear the height of your fans before turning? Is that what you meant?

yes! thanks guys ...that is what i meant ...
that is exactly what i am going to order and try. will come with picture updates probably this weekend, using the DSLR this time ..not the phone :D

so, i have received a lot more stuff, but still not convinced i have made the right decision to go with 10-13mm tubing. i got the advanced LRT but i am still not able to do proper bends with it (in fact is worse than the feser tube i already had :( )

should i switch to 10-16mm tubing maybe? (and thus, change the fittings as well ??). will that allow me better bends without the kinks or should i just go directly to 1/2 tubing?

what are people usually using here, or are there any tricks i am not aware of? (does heating some of these tubes maybe help ? :) )

just trying out random stuff (ways to do the loop, etc), i decided to go for an inverted TJ07 :)
so i started cutting and modifying to find that switching the two aluminium rails around, will leave a 3-4 mm gap at the top. does anybody have a link to how others have solved this problem ? i am going to google now to see what others have done ...

right, ...i have found a guy on another forum who has done this and i took some of his tips.
if anyone is interested in doing this with the original parts:
1. drill out the rivets on the bottom rail
2. switch the two rails between each-other (bottom one will go top, top goes bottom)
3. raise the bottom rail with 4 mm approx (for example use a piece of clear cut plexi which you can paint later if you want)
4. cut the top rail to size so it will accommodate the switch position and the rear plate is in line with the original screw-holes, or eliminate the inner wall from the rail that you are now using on top to enable the mono tray to slide in easily. (i will provide some pics later on how I have done this)

are there better ways? probably ...if so, please share!

the loop is up and running fine, ...can't say the same about the rest though :(

so when i power on the whole things comes on for 2 seconds, then shuts off, then after 2 seconds comes on again and continues this endless loop :(
any ideas what could it be? gpu ? ps ? ...any advice on what i should try ?

went through 1by1 on:
-plugged out power to gpu -same
-pulled out gpu -same
-plugged out extension power cables for cpu/mobo and tried direct -same
-left everything plugged in MINUS cpu 12v 8pin power cable -> no more continuous shutdown/powerup!!

what could this be? any help greatly appreciated...

Following another thread on this EVGA x58sli le mobo, I have left only 1 DIMM and now the PC has booted :)
No clue what the problem is, will let you know how everything goes!

Did some test with only the 1* 2GB DIMM to see temps:
Stock CPU/GPU clocks

Idle: 25 CPU/30GPU
Load: 33CPU/40GPU (quakelive max details, nothing else installed yet :) )

This is with all fans on minimum ...

So, a few things to sort out on the list:
-put back other DIMMs and get it working
-there is an option on having a cable run from the mobo CPU fan to the fan controller in order for the fan controller to automatically adjust the fans? is this possible you think with my fairly simple controller?
-run the system for 1 week to see if I am happy with everything
-if everything is ok, bleed the system and break to pieces
-cut holes for cables in mobo tray
-prepare for painting and paint
-cut hole for window and find a tinted black replacement for the original window since this is now inverted

Kind of like the grey/chrome/black combination - it looks much better real than pictures, so I will give it a try maybe with a pastel grey liquid when re-assembling after I do the paint jobs.

Any ideas/advice is welcomed - the cool work starts now :-)

did some other tests in load with P95 and some other 3dmark/etc and i get (with fans on middle speed, barely audible)

Load: 45CPU - in P95 stress test
45GPU - in 3dmark/games

How are these temps compared to what other people are getting for a similar system? is it ok or too hot?
These were again, with the fans on medium - it gets a lot better if i turn them up.

I want to start some OC'ing now ...

Are you not worried about theft?

my wife is at home 24/7 (works from home) ..so, no - not really :)
plus, I have only used the mancave to build this thing...and do other stuff, it doesn't really hosts anything of value (except stuff like baby pram, bikes, gardening tools) and one of the rooms is like a storage for stuff that doesn't fit in the house

so nothing of value to steal, plus even if they do, there is insurance ;)

1 year later

First of all, sorry for the big delay ...but life came in the way.

1 year later, 1 baby later, ...so much other change later, and also relevant for this thread: almost 1 year of the system being up and running and used everyday successfully, without any leaks or problems ...I am back!

Took it apart about one week ago, did some of the cuts that I wanted and ordered some additional stuff like grey tubing to match the colour scheme I have chosen (Grey/Nickel + Black).

I cut a window into the side-panel as it ended up being an inverted version.
Pictures to come soon as I have them spread over iphone, compact camera and my dslr :-)

Currently I am applying the second and 3rd very thin coats of primer on the outside (only 2 thin coats for interior) and painting all other smaller bits.

I will return tomorrow with pics, ideas on how to finish this system in terms of some of the placements for HDD, etc and how to use the plexi (should I paint it as well or use it as is, IE: glossy black? )

and months an months later I am back, with some pictures after painting the case after taking it all apart.
I have tons of pictures from the process, but I find it so hard to find time to select the right ones and post here so I will just post now what I have on my pc

I know it is far from what others do here in terms of attention to detail, but I think I did ok for my first WC and on a budget :-)

Hi,

The last image has been removed as it was over 1,280 pixels wide and spoiler tags aren't allowed.

Are TJ07's that boring that I cannot get even one bad review of this build ? :)
I'm feeling ignored... [must be because I left the thread for months without no updates]

I like it, what is that grey tubing ?

thanks!
its masterkleer grey/silver
Masterkleer 3/8" ID (1/2" OD) UV Silver Hose Per Metre

There was nothing else to match my back/grey/silver theme so this one did the job well. (never tested the UV features though )

thanks guys! really appreciate it, the new owner loves it as well, especially because it is silent PC as well
