The time has come for me to get this project log started as I'm now ~75% of the way to having everything!

My project - Magnus Aqua Domus simply means 'Big Water House' in Latin  (thanks google :D).

Which is exactly what this build will be, a massive massive water project.

Core components:

MSI Big Bang XPower II X79
i7 3820
16GB Sammy greens (hopefully around the 2200mhz mark)
2 x MSI OC 7970's
Corsair HX1000W with pre braid kit (once OcUK decide to send me the actual HX kit in black and not the AX1200 kit in red :p)

Now that boring stuff is out of the way, the water parts :D

Radiators:
EK XTX360 (cooled with 3 x OcUK Zaward tech lab fans)
EK XT360 (cooled with 3 x OcUK Zaward tech lab fans)
Phobya Nova Extreme 1080 (passive)

Blocks:
CPU - EK Supreme HF Cu Full Nickel
Motherboard - EK-Mosfet XPII
GPU's - Aquacomputer aquagrATIx 7970 XT blocks

Res - Phobya Balancer 450mm nickel base
Pump - Alphacool D5, Alphacool plexi top ATM but that may change

Fittings and tubing: I'm avoiding compressions for a few reasons on this build, so back to basics with some 1/2" barbs with clips along side some orange (says red in description, can assure you its orange) XSPC 1/2-3/4 tubing.

Misc: Two sets of koolance QDC's so I can still remove the side panel, many many bitspower silver rotary fittings.

Colour scheme is going to be Black/Silver/Orange.

Oh and before I forget, its all getting wrapped up in this absolute beast:

:D

Well, I like the orange tubing (using some of the 7/16 stuff atm) and needed something that contrasted well with black :)

Things to buy this week:
Another 7970 block
Res
Mosfet block
More beer

And provided I don't have a 70+ hour week at work like I did last week I'll hopefully get around to flushing some radiators and maybe start cutting the rear side panel!

Forgot to say as well, the wheels are in motion for some VERY special and VERY exclusive backplates for the GPU's

The fact that every time I try slacken off a compression **** the whole fitting usually comes off with it - perhaps me putting them on too tight but it will save my fingers when I have roughly 16 fittings to put on :D

I also think/hope barbs will give me a cleaner look, they shouldn't near completely cover the CPU block when compressions might :)

It is huge, for size reference that motherboard tray is roughly 3/4" longer/wider then an Sr2 & if I removed the mid plate I could probably squeeze an 800D inside it.

Cable management will be tough but I have a good idea of how I'm going to sort it :)

:D

Will take some more pictures soon.

Just had my B grade aquacomputer block open, turns out it hasn't been used and the rattling I could hear is some form of deflector in the VRM area, probably something to do with '3DFLOW'.

So I'll take some pictures of the block internals later in the week as I want to take it back apart and apply some silicone grease to the seals :)

that case looks like a big unit !!

subbed as this looks like its going to be awesome.

Suggest you lock the cats up though as they look like they have designs on making that case their new play den :)

looking at your kit list I see you have gone with the Zaward Golfs OCUk tech lab fans. What is their performance / noise like ? These are the 2000rpm ones right ?

Reason I ask is because i am in the process of getting the last few bits i need for my new WC project but I am still undecided on fans. Originally speced out the Scythe GT 1850's, but looking at the golfs I see their have higher static pressures so I assume they would perform better on the rads, just worried about how noisy they might be....

would greatly appreciate your input if you have used them in the past.

Haven't used them before but I can easily run some up this week and get back to you :)

Rjk told me the static pressure may claim to be higher then it actually is, though I suspect they are still around 3mm h2o, for £3 each (buy the oem versions not boxed retail!) You can't argue :)
