PROJECT: MAGNUS AQUA DOMUS!

Did some flushing and a little leak testing today :)

Phobya Nova 1080, XT360 (XTX360 is in use atm) & Supreme HF Cu getting some warm water from a spare 18w DDC I have:

Radiators could do with a blow out before fitting:

That block, just stunning:

18w DDC with the most retarded top I've ever seen, I had to route the tubing into the fill port as if you use the return line it just pushes air bubbles directly back into the inlet  :

A final flush with 2.5L of De-Ionised water:

As she sits just now, exposed in a bench table shoved in a cupboard next to the boiler :(

Don't forget the potential £900 CPU (top line IB-E) that is getting added late on this year, as well as the un-doubted GPU changes (In the last year I've owned around 9 GPU's :o).

Plus if Titan doesn't carry an absolutely retarded price tag then I may be moving sooner rather than later ;)

You'll get there bud, I spent 4-5 years with college and apprenticeships :)

Its all been gradual purchases over the last 8 months or so building up to this point.

I'm really hopeful of at least getting some parts moved over next weekend, but I can't really move anything until I get the Mosfet block for the motherboard, as it would be pointless fitting it to have to remove it again :p

Edit: this week I WILL be cutting the rear side panel and putting some grommets in for the 1080 tubing :)

Nope not at all, if I didn't have a kid on the way I could have easily doubled the budget by moving to hex core and buying an LD case.

Watercooling alone is currently sitting just over the £500 mark.

Just waiting on deliveries now guys, hope to have the bulk with me by the weeks end.

Now on a mission to get it all done and benched before titan steals my thunder :o

:p

Was going to make a start drilling for the 1080 tonight....remembered a 1" hole saw, forgot my battery drill :o

I do have a drill at home with me, but I wouldn't trust it to cut through paper without bursting into flames :p

I would have used a magbase drill but the material is a little too thin, the torque on the cutter might have distorted the panel.

Hopefully going to slope away from work early tomorrow (working from a clients base, once I'm done I'm done, boss thinks its an all day job, I think its a 2 hour job;)) I'll get it drilled then :)

My forcast date for getting to the good stuff is next weekend, with a view to finishing it by the first few days of March. I'm due a couple of days off work, so when I order the last parts I'll take the following few days off work to get everything done :D

I'm also adding this to the build to keep the drives a little neater (one molex power over 2 x sata power):

YOUR BASKET
1 x IcyBox IB-172SK-B Tray-less module for 1x 2.5" and 1x 3.5" SATA HDDs in 1x 5.25" bay £24.98
Total : £27.26 (includes shipping : £1.90).

Edit: That thing says Sata2 only? Any guesses to if its a limitation of the device or just at time of writing? as I'd imagine it'd just be a pass-through connection?

It could, I've ordered anyhow as its ideal for what I need :)

Which reminds me I'll need to get some more cables ordered :D

Not the final ones but close, I don't think either of the parcels are backplates, most likely final GPU block, dimastech switches and the Icy Box drive holder-thingy.

Things are looking good for having everything for next weekend though, need one order complete from another retailer (mosfet block, res and fill port) and then my final order will be from OcUK. All being well I'll get the final order in Thursday morning and I'll take Friday off work :D

I have overlooked a couple of things that I'll be sorting out over the weekend, mostly I derped and forgot to grab radiator screws....for all of the radiators and I still need the replacement HX braided cables :)

Have you set aside about a week to build this? :)

Giving my self 2-3 days to get the bulk of it built, then I can figure out if I'm missing any little bits - cables, couplings etc...

NEEDS MOAR PICS.

I'll be watching this, sick build!

I'll try get some more pics over the weekend, as I said earlier the only thing stopping me progressing atm is lack of backplates and lack of Mosfet block :)

Nah, I love a parcel, as I know something inside is what I want, xmas usually brings socks, jumpers and the occasional Lynx deodorant set (haven't worn lynx in about 15 years :o).

I do prefer opening a parcel that contains actually what I ordered though :D

Edit: Just taken a delivery of....A 53 GALLON JACK DANIELS WHISKEY BARREL!!

Its not full...unfortunately.

My mrs enters online competitions all the time, she did say she won something for JD, its that big it has to stay on the balcony...doesn't fit through the door :o

Going to either try flog it, or it can be my 'table' :D

Right-o, went to the PO this morning to pick up some parcels, no backplates yet I'm afraid :( I'll give Ricardo an email later today to see if they have been dispatched yet.

Up first the pair of Dimastech 19mm switches, silver with an orange LED ring: (excuse the black speckles on my hands, that's embedded shards of metal :o)

The ICY BOX enclosure, this was a last minute addition, but it makes keeping the drives in one place and tidy that little easier, also means I don't have to much about with sata-power connections at all in this build as its all powered from a single molex:

And finally my second Aquacomputer block finally arrived, I'll get a pic of the other one once I've re-built it, as the seal looked a little dry so I'll be putting a small amount of silicone grease on it before I re-assemble:

Icy box says it's 'Fanless - Silent' but there's a fan at the back of it?

Nice water block too. :)

I noticed this too? Some of the worst advertising I've ever seen :p

Oooh!!

Sand it down and bring it back to life! Wax, varnish or something to keep it as it should be! Will look awesome and make a great table :)

I wish I had time to make such an effort on it, as it stands its worth around £100, all varnished up around 4x that, it could pay for me to tri-fire :(:p

Its that heavy, the white cable its resting on in the above picture, it actually sheared straight through the cable! So I spent my afternoon fitting a new cable on the tumble dryer :(

As much as I'd love to, fairly sure my mrs would harm my gentlemans area if I asked to keep it and use it with my PC, especially as my case is almost as tall as the barrel.

Just put in another £150 order, Mosfet block is finally in stock somewhere in the UK, so should get that on wednesday.

I hope all I have left to order is tubing & fluid, which will get ordered on Wednesday.

Just ordered:

Mosfet block
Radiator screws
Res
Braided Sata cables
Braided Molex cables
Braided 6 pin PCI cables
Fillport
Thread extenders

Anything I might be missing guys??

Edit: Backplates should be here this week too!!

I know I just want it to be as complete as it can be, I'm taking Thursday/Friday off of work I don't want to hit a dead end before I start :p

The only thing I'm really waiting on now is the Backplates, Ricardo said they should have been shipped today but I haven't had a shipping conformation yet to keep tabs on the tracking ID.

OH I realised I have a better camera then my phone too, so hopefully picture quality will be increased (at last!).

****!!! 5mm LEDS!!
