Project MSI Osiris

Plenty of issues today with the PETG tubing , i hate the stuff , when it dont heat up right it gives a snake like cobra neck and if it heats up too much it caves in even though the rubber is inside . ive given up on the main tricky bends and ordered some alphacool L connectors as i wasted another 2 meters today , with my little boy ill and screaming and a missis whos asking me to do other things i just dont have the time to do these bends , not all lost there will be some bends just the L shaped ones that go into the L connectors . the PETG tubing also bends in the wrong place , the build is practically near completion .

I also had a lot of trouble and took me neat 2 hours to get the 0-rings on the EK dual parallel connector for the 2 graphics cards to stay put , i still don't know if they are in there seated position . Well i will know if it leaks .

some pics .

Even this bend is not to my liking as its still got that slight cobra neck . will do some more of these as most of the bend now will be L bends, am i not heating it up enough ?

with Temp sensor .

got 3 meters of tubing left .

computer is now bled and water loop is running . I Had Faulty pump that i bought from here and is being sent back and because OC never had stock i had to buy urgently from else where at a higher price with next day it arrived today,(i actually sold my original pump to a friend who needed it more that me at the time as my build was nowhere near getting built . its now running with the pump now on full and to be honest its not that loud while its screwed to the case and not a a lot of vibration . ive also tested with the Fan controller using PWM and then take down the RPM and at 50% and at around 3000rpm its very livable , tested with all 8 fans running also and the fans at 900rpm are louder than the pump . will add pics shortly . it really is coming together now and the journey will be complete tomorrow once i can get hold of some distilled water ..the system took about 1.5 litres where the other half litre was leaking from faulty pump . i only need about 150ml i think as my res is only half full , and i dont know if there is any air left in the phobya top rad as when i turn the pump off the res rises about 1cm and when switched on the res goes down 1 cm , is this normal or is there still air in the system somewhere ?

i do have a screw port at front of the top rad but its very hard to get to , and im a bit worried if i use some needle nose pliers that i wont do it up quick enough lol . i cant see any bubbles in the system at all and all the tiny bubbles that was on the surface of the cpu block have now all gone . cant even tell if the water is being pushed around either . there is a tiny tiny vortex in the res but i think adding more fluid will solve this . now to add pics .

I done loads of tilting and yea the fill port in was using is now plugged ..This is the thing ..I think the decrease and increase of fluid in the res when on and off is the actual pressure of the 2 pumps in tandem ..when I only use the one pump the water level only goes down maybe 1mm ..when both pumps on full it's then 1 cm ..thinking it's pressure. .won't be long with pics .just sorting kids tea out and then will post them .

Some pics i promised but didnt get round to putting them up . build will be finished sunday (today) hopefully when my water turns up to fill up the rws a bit more , all air is now out the system after having pump on for over 24 hours .

the faulty pump ..grrrr it went everywhere .

not sure if this is too close for comfort against the ram module , hopefully that ram wont get to hot at 3000mhz .

Half bled with faulty pump . it was a mess .

NEW PUMP ARRIVED ,had to order from elsewhere as i need it urgently as OC never had stock and its now bled .

A few bubbles before it was completely bled , hardly any bubbles now but i do still have that condensation , perhaps when the system is on they will vanish .

my new desk is coming monday and im in 2 minds to go full hog and get a UW Gsync from overclockers , but the height of only 37cm is putting me off as i want to keep the 4k 40in but dont want a 1k monitor being over shadowed by a monitor thats half the price but twice the size and not sure if my new desk can fit both , i was planning on the new Asus ROG ips but the problems has put me off .

1st part of the custom top grill which the filter goes onto then the new custom grill goes on top .

Bubbles gone yeaaaaaaa

Love this block , wait until you see it all lit up like a christmas tree .

And this is my very first water cooled pc , i didnt need the bits power L bends in the end and will send back to OC i dont know why i was panicking as i got 3 meters of tubing left . lets hope it cools the bits down like i want them too and im able to overclock the way i want it too , hoping to get at least 4.5ghz for gaming and 4.7ghz for a bench mark and thus the reason why i bought the board as its meant to be a great overclocker .

Drain port

Looks fantastic :), very tidy indeed. Makes me want hard-line on mine now. I'm so tempted now :D. Maybe I will next year lol. It wouldn't be a huge deal to swap it over I guess. Where did you re-route the cables under the tray? I'll keep watch to give me ideas on what you've done.

Going to look really great all lit up and finally alive :D. Get some pics up when its done, looking forward to it.

What cables do you mean as i have not connected the cables in the pics , i have now though , its all up and running and temps so far on idle are 25c on CPU at 3.5ghz and (speed steeping and around 1.2ghz on idle) , i have only powered 1 card so far just to get it up and running , and that card is 20c on idle where before on air it was 35c . i was having problems overclocking and wouldnt go over 4hz , BUT i have now realized that when i was putting 40 x100 on the software it was really 40x125 as i had XMP enabled in bios to get my 3,000mhz ram so i was trying to get 5ghz lol at 1.30 volts hahaha it just froze without the BSOD , had to pack up as my little boy wanted to go to bed . the the fan controller and fans and pump are running fine , the pump is set at 40% with an rpm of around 2800 and pretty quiet . its a very quiet system so far but need to hook up hard drives . once i overclock and happy with it beeing stble on cpu and gpus then i may increase the pump flow to keep it cool , i will be running at 4.ghz for day to day stuff then 4.4-4.5ghz for gaming . hopefully

i will take more pics now when its all nice and tidy and up and running on my new desk, and i have took the plunge in a new monitor .

Looking good, that's really unfortunate about the faulty pump though, must have been so frustrating.

Very frustrating indeed , this pc has died and been resurrected more than anything i know , i thought i killed the board 4 times , then the pump , then it wouldn't power on today due to needing to press the bios reset . its been a headache , and thus the reason for the new name of this PC ..oh and faulty power supply

New name .

Its godlike (like the motherboard)

and the word resurrection springs to mind .

just hope nobody has this name .

I think its an awesome name and different.

and it was my missis that came up with the name .

I meant the PSU cables, 24 pin atx, molex power etc. Mine was difficult enough going through one of the big gromets, which sits above where the bottom tray would be unfortunately.

Those temps seem fine as well. Just the load temps you want to worry about really.

Look forward to some more pics. I like that name as well.

Ive gone through the side and up through the little gaps i haven't gone through bottom gromet as it would be impossible cus of the midplate ..I will take photos when it's all done for you ..

My desk has arrived today so will be doing that today completing the cable management and then take some quality pics ..I've done an overclock and done a little stress test @4.0ghz and the pc is like a freezer ..nothing but cold air coming out of rads ..All 8 fans are at 900rpms the pump at 40% and im getting 43-45c from cpu that's on auto volts at the moment .and ram is at 3ghz also .im very pleased with the computer with all the problems I've had and it's so quiet ..and missis is also happy ..can't wait until Xmas now when the wife gives me my new K95 RGB keyboard and M65 mouse and my G920 wheel ..and I've just splashed put on the new acer X34 ultra wide ..only thing is I like my 4k 40in screen but there is no space for both screens .

Ahh ok, I see what you mean now.

100hz makes all the difference trust me! Going hard-line as well now :).

Those temps seem perfect as well. There's nothing like a water cooled system :).

yea im expecting it to jump a lot when i end up adding 1.29-1.35 volts , i do have a good chip though as it was in my Alienware anf got .cant get how cold the rads are and the single card . need to take apart the second VGA power cable as needs to be the red black red , and not the red black red back it came as and put in the comb . got a spare pair of hands coming shortly to help with the desk . yea go for it , the amount of stuff i still got is insane , i ordered 20 hardline fittings for the hardline tubing and only used 10 lol . need to sell them now as cant send them back as had them for too long .

How do i get a mod to change the heading of the thread to the new name of the project build ?

I added some more distilled water along with the EK concentrate and then added some mayhem's blood red dye and its very bloody red now . wont post any more pics now until its completely done and hopefull the new monitor comes before the weekend .

Hahah my bad about the misunderstanding on the 100hz ..I actually got 75hz overclock on the philips with mini display to graphics card but it had no gysync and I do get stutter on the philips now and again . Lol about the 100hz a haha that's tiredness for you looking after 2 kids and trying to do a million things at once lol .. but I'm not far wrong though temps will climb a bit on every 100hz on the cpu as it's not just 100hz it's 800hz with 8 cores ..glad I influenced you on going hardline ..I will unveil with maybe a video of the pc but want to make a video without uploading to YouTube .

Thanks man , my misses named it , she just googled godlike and came up with a few names then went on wiki and seen this Godlike named Osiris and then i read it and said yea man its perfect name due to the death and Resurrection as its taken over 2 months for this beast to come alive . its going to be sexy sexy sexy .. ,and just waiting on L shaped Led connectors so i can put some LED strips in the front bezel .Thinking the Blood theme is a bit to dark now , might have to take some out and give it some aspirin to thin the blood (cooling fluid) out .

Delayed due to monitor coming tomorrow and trying to get the LED strips controlled by the farbwerk and destroyed 2 connector cables trying to poke it through holes. so ordered another from OC . will just have the 2 strips for now until other cable arrives. getting the GPU power leads inline was a pain. all i have to do now is tidy and put on the grills ,and a little more cable tidy at the rear . tested on gaming at 4K on Project cars and getting a solid 80fps on max settings .

Temps

GPU Idle with both cards connecting 24c
GPU on full load on standard OC at 1329mhz boost 45c and 43c

CPU Idle at 1500mhz 29c
CPU on 4ghz 47c

pump is on 50% and around 3200rpm

all 8 fans 2 x 4 are on 60% 900rpm

not to bad i must say and plenty of room to overclock .

Pics to arrive when i have set it all up with new X34 tomorrow if i dont get to carried away /

computer is finished been playing around with it , only problems i have at the moment is that the overclock at 4ghz keeps resetting now and again for no reason . i have 3000mhz ram thats causing the issue . as i have XMP profile on the BLK is at 125 so if its 3.2ghz in the command center its really 4ghz . if i change the 125 base cllock in the bios my ram then goes to 2400mhz .for some reason if i dont have it on defualt clock in bios when XMP is on the CPU in bios goes to 3.4ghz and when it boots is shuts down and then tried to come back on and keeps shutting down , i think the 3.5ghz in bios then gets transferred to the command center when booting and then uses the 125BLK and then crashes as its not going to boot on 3.5ghz x125 . need to figure it all out , either that i have faulty ram .

Oh i bought the X34 acer and its going back due to very bad backlight bleed . back on 4k monitor and now i hate None Gsysnc .playing games on 40in 4k screen now is none playable lol .

The G-sync has proper blown me away , I wouldn't mind just asking OC to just replace the screen for the same , going from a 40in then to a 34 ultra wide on the height side of things is a step down , but when i packed away the acer and hooked up my Philips i could instantly tell the difference in fast moving games like project cars , project cars was just such a pleasure to play using the Acer . was very immersive , but still lacked the size of things . im now wanting the 32in 4K Acer thats availbale for pre order which is also Gsync and thats also IPS .

Would love to know what the ROG is like , i just sold my 27in Asus PB278q IPS to a friend , best monitor i ever had and had it clocked at 85hz with no problems , might ask for it back lol and then just get a Dell Gsync to go beside it as could be waiting a while for the Acer as there is no release date and details are very limited .

Will do a nice set og photos of the build . just need to do my homework on overclocking the beast as it has the double pins to overclock it better .i can get 4.375ghz stable with xmp ..might just turn on overclock genie see what that comes up with but read stories that it down clocks the ram to 2666mhz on 3000 mhz ram strange as this ram is made for this board as there is MSI dragon series of the same RAM somewhere .

do a refresh of your build would love to see your work , all my mates love my pc on how quiet it is ..it really is silent missis is happy and bedroom is not a sauna lol .

You can see the updated build in my SIG tomorrow :), looks far better than flexi which clouded up and looked very pink. This is a lovely cherry red. Just waiting to finish the ssd/HDD plate with some type of wrap carbon or some type of brushed steel and get rid of the bolt heads.

Its a big difference with G-sync :). The x34 tempted me but I went for the new swift IPS 165hz. Super smooth, I love high refresh rates and 100 is about my limit for fps shooters as I'm very sensitive. There is a touch of glow/blb in the top right but nothing worth returning it for.

That Acer sounds great aswell, about perfect size I think.

I was super surprised how cooler my room is aswell, those reference GPU coolers were ridiculous. The amount of heat and noise, they were like jet engines.

your sig not working .

Might do what i was going to do in the first place and get the ROG IPS. can always send it back if i get a dud . but then im always going to pine for bigger screen (Acer 32 4K G-sync ), 4K never going to get 100fps on most new games nowadays anyway and not sure but the other day while using the Acer you dont have to have vsync on to activate gsync as it was buttery smooth getting 140+ fps on project cars on full wack. even had AA on full . but it was even better when vsync was on then it capped the screen at 100fps ..so smooth . and reading reviews i wont notice the difference between 60 and 100 frames when G-sync is on as its smooth any way .

will update the thread tomorrow with pics , not sure about a video as not really interested in uploading to you tube .

I was going to do a video once the whole gaming set up was complete , I.E G920 wheel , K95 keyboard, M65 Mouse which all i got for Xmas off my missis . she knows i know about the wheel lol as i signed for it lol along with the gear shfter .

I even Considered getting 3x ROG TN panels

Just letting people know the pc is finished but having so much fun on it at the moment and just waiting until its complete with its perfect brother (Monitor with G-sync) .
