Thanks mates :) your comments are overwelming really appreciate it.

I was hoping to post up some temperatures but I seem to be reporting Orthos errors when I load the system which is worrying me. I'm sure I will sort it soon enough.

Ok I have managed to sort out the problems I had. I can now show you the temperature improvements I am now experiencing (E6600 overclocked to 3GHz). In my old Akasa Zen I was reporting 36C idle and around 50C loaded:

Nice one, I would definately recommend doing it. I hope I have inspired others to do just the same. I just figured I would follow the traditional layout for the airflow, I didn't want to end up installing something that would possibly hinder the flow inside there. Its a shame there isn't an easier way to test out different airflow techniques.

There is tonnes of room in there, and it was easier to do things. The only thing that slightly disappointed me is the quality of the paint, there are scratches in some places but that is because of what I chose and like I said I would probably do this slightly different next time anyway. My motherboard temps are amazing they sit at 19-20C and the WD HDD I have sat behind a Yate Loon is kept very cool too its actually quite cool to touch lol.

have to get the finger out and start doing stuff to mine soon.

I have another friend of another forum that is buliding one too I will post his build photos too
Get doing it! I'm hoping I have inspired or encouraged others to get their old cases out and get modding - its heaps of fun and the rewards are great!

Thanks will :D

Its a beautiful case to work on. Of course I can still mod it and repaint if I want to in the future which is a great prospect. I've had to take off the side panel a few times when clearing CMOS etc for overclocking and its knocked the paint where the hooks lock into place (you can't see it) its nothing too bad but its one of those things that next time as you say I will consider in greater depth.

Cheers for the suggestions and support :)

Thankyou. Similar to the other pieces I washed and wet-n-dried the fascia with grade 2000, dried it, and then applied a quick layer of primer and then began coating with paint. I left around 20 minutes between coats.

Halfords and wilkos for the paints and a competitor I can't mention for the mesh. Email trust address if you want to know. :)

Thanks guys, I have the urge to do another one to be honest. It really was fun. I should have put the dimensions up I must have forgot. Here they are:

187 x 619 x 420 (WxHxD) in mm

Finding an old server case is proving more difficult than I thought.... the most obvious places are proving fruitless.
Any ideas?

Try your local PC store, not PC World etc - the smaller local store. I got mine from a local store and recently got another one from the same store for my girlfriend. He just went into the back and had a look at what he had and then we agreed on a price. Other than that I don't know where else, and I can't really suggest anywhere cause that would be breaking rules on the forums (got suspended for that just a few weeks ago and don't wanna get busted again).

Excellent, glad you have finally found one. Take a few snappies when you get it. I think I'm going to do another one but won't be for a few months - really miss not doing this sort of project, so much fun!

Don't worry about posting I don't mind ;) That case looks seriously modable. Very roomy. The good thing about the quality of some of these cases is that they are solid and very strong. Once you get some airflow setup in there the temperatures plumet. Remember when you are doing the project always measure and measure again.
