take a look at the new project offset tech demo from gdc. They have been making great progress since Intel bought them which also resulted in cancelling the console versions (if they ever existed in any form).

looks incredible and very promising, makes cryengine3 look very poor.

It's a low res video of a tech demo, where as Crysis is a full game we can all play. You can't really compare the two.

It's impressive yes, but I wouldn't say it makes CryEngine 2/3 look very poor...
 
bear in mind that tech demos can cheat by recording the actual footage say at 10-15 fps and then replaying it back at 60. Pretty convinced Crytek did this in the early videos of Crysis tbh.
 
Noticed it launching at the same time as Larrabee, so no doubt it will be pushed as the reason you need to upgrade.

Aside from that it made me wish they'd remake Outcast using that engine.
