Project "One" - Corsair 650D

I want to do something similiar with mine but instead of the plain black floor i have now i want a reflective mirrored one or chrome so i can see the fan side of my GPU.

No idea whether to vinyl wrap it though or to buy a mirror sheet and cut it.

sound coo, especially with a water cooled GFX card with plexi top so you can see the liquid moving through it on the reflection... I worry about how obvious dust and fingerprints will be though

OK, phase 1 of this is complete:

Phase 2 To-Do List:

  1. Purchse 2 X GFX cards and associated full blocks
  2. Drill, tube and fit fill and drain ports
  3. Add the water temperature sensors and cut out mounts in the case to display water temps
  4. Obtain "basement" area and fit it in

Here are the final touches I have done as part of phase 1

Sleeved the lights

Gave it a good clean

It's not as clear as it looks in the last photo I posted, because the inside of the case is illuminated and my camera was set to evaluative metering the inside of the case is overexposed which results in the loss of detail

The effect deffinately diminishes but not completely.... Yet

That's a great build put's my effort to shame :p

When I finish my re-build I'll post some pics as using same colour scheme etc but loop other way round.
A pic of my very first water cooling mock up and 1 not long after.

My cable managment is still rubbish tho

wow nice job.. I see you mounted your rad the same way as I mounted mine, it seems quite rare that people do this but I think the cables look much tidier

both of our builds are just missing the GFX cards full water blocks to make them look super sexy

I got a photo back from a guy who is making my case floor/basement area out of acrylic

its looking good! Cost me £20... and I can pass on his details if anyone wants something similar

Nice, I'm doing a shelf out of black anodised alluminium. If turns out to be crap I'll have his details off you and have one like yours.

I know i'm nagging you a bit BUT did you use any of the pipe/tube bits that came with your EK 250 res, want to get it right first time and have yours running ok ;)

sorry Im not picking up what you're putting down

pipe/tube bits?

are you asking which components of the EK res I used? It came with the res, anti-cylone and mounting brackets. I used the mounting brackets, didnt use the anti-cyclone, it didnt come with any tube or pipe?

Ah those tubes! afaik they are permantenly attached to the res, I didnt think they were detachable?

I got it wrong the first time and was feeding in from a port on the top that did not go through the tube bit which caused air to fill the loop when it turned off. Making sure the input tube is below the water level stops this from happening

As for the output tube, I am not sure which is the best to use. Personally I want to have a drain port so I used the tube illustrated in the bottom picture to connect to my loop leaving one of the other bottom holes to connect to a drain port

my box arrived today so I have updated my first post with the contact details for the guy that made it for me

he is now making me a fish tank lid and maybe a mounting bracket so I can fit a second fan on my front rad to increase the air flow.. I'd recommend this guy to anyone who needs some kind of custom acrylic box/plate/lid made

I installed my basement/floor yesterday, again sorry about the photos I just cant get enough light... my next build will be a white room I think

I also tidied up the cables a bit and installed my fill port which isn't finished yet, just need to drill a hole in the top of the case to mount it but the snow is kind of taken over outside

I think the box at the bottom gives it a stealthy look which I like

Looking good mate.
Mine just before it goes "live"

Still can't make my mind up shelf or box :(

I am planning on moving my res to where yours is so I can fit larger GFX card in the future and its also more visible when the side panel is on the case as I think a tube res is the best looking part of a loop other than the blocks themselves
