nope dropped the psu off at the father in laws work (hes an electrical genuis and works doing plasma and lcd repairs etc) its all been tested and its deader than dead :( :(

got a new corsair modular in my basket but i'm waiting to see if i can grab a bargain on the MM first :)

well after the fiasco with the power pc going pop i decided i need a quick build to get me up and gaming again

so the antec came back out of the cupboard

the work area was prepared

and everything was given a quick bench test with the new psu as the 9450 and 6970 were in the power pc when it went pop

all good after a quick post

case given a quick clean out of dust and dead beasties

and the psu temporarily tacked into place with a couple of thumbscrews

I was quite dissapointed with my new OCZ Z series when i unboxed it, the braiding is poor the connectors feel as if they are made of the cheapest plastic known to man even thoguh the main psu seems extremely well finished and put together

imagine my disgust when i realised how short the cables were :(

some front panel connectors added (note their all behind the mobo :) not an easy feat in a 300

i like neatness even during my build process

and tadaa

all nice and neat :) it was a bit of a quick build just to get me back up and running as much as i love project power pc(2) i'm not feeling the love of an old sub ghz mac with a radeon 9000 for gaming so i needed a proper gaming machine up and running

spec of the antec
q9450 @ 3.6ghz
8gig ram
6970 2gig

nips along quite nicely in most things

But fret ye not project power pc is not dead and buried i'm thinking of a rebirth with a bulldozer setup and a snazzy paintjob and cooling setup wath this space for more updates
