Hey there peeps, over the past three months i had been trying to find a case that had decent air flow, loads of room, white and looked amazing, i finally planned out what i was going to get and i went for it, here is the list of items that i baught:

1 x Aerocool X-Predator Ultimate Gaming Case - White
6 x Zaward Golf II Fans 140mm - white
2 x Artic F9 92mm fans
2 x white cold cathodes
1 x 4 pin PSU extension cable
1 x white medium size pack of white sleeving and heat shrink

So where to start, i ordered all of the parts at 11:00 at night and all of them where delivered by 10:00 the next day (this being friday) i have seen big cases but this one is huge!
i succsessfully hauled all of the stuff upstairs (3rd floor) and got myself set up for the work ahead:

First off was the case

I was really impressed with how strong and decent the skrews where, not cheap and not easy to cheese

So after i had installed the simple items i decided that it was finally time to "kill" my gaming rig

After doing so, it was time to bring back my machine from the dead :D

I succsessfully installed my motherboard without any problems

I have been watching and reading mant tutorials on how to "sleeve" cables, so i thought i would have ago, i went with white sleeving so that it would go with the computer case and theme in general, i tried to sleeve as many cables in the computer as possible to make it look good, here is what happened

One sata cable

So far so good, then i tried to cable some more items like the 4 pin extension cable

SUCCSESS!!!

Then i went on to the PSU cables

THEN!!!

I slipped when trying to pull one of the cables out, my thumb succsessfully got married to one of the staples that i was using, i can tell you for sure that it hurt :mad::mad: after i cleaned off the blood and took a deeper inspection i found a decent 1cm clean slice

So after cleaning off my wounds i carried on and installed some other sleeved items

I wanted to install my cold cathode switch somewhere that would look cool and would be easy to use

Almost near the end of the build and i thought i would see if the PSU would reach the 24 pin through the back of the case...... guess what....... it didnt!!!:mad::mad:
So until i can get some more cables that are long enough my system will look like this :(

I had finally installed the rest of the stuff for my system and was ready to start her up

As you can see i was writing this up as i took the pictures :D

Well there you go peeps, i hope you enjoyed looking and reading, have a great christmas :D

cheers

If you want really good white SATA cables my tip would be before braiding wrap some white electrical tap around it then put the white braid over the top.

hey there guys, thanks for the tips and comments, dneill2006 i simple counted the spaces of each hole, found the centre, then cut a hole that the switch would fit through, after doing so i placed the foam behind and then cut a hole for the switch, i used a pair of wire cutters and also a file to get rid of the rough bits

So just been playing with the system some more, the card reader that i had put in was the wrong one and was not reccognised by the system becouse it did not have the correct drivers, so i went through the buisness of sleeving another card reader that was a little shorter:

I think thats it for now but i should be uploading some more pictures when i ever buy a whole new PSU or just an extension cable for the 24 pin

cheers

I know, im thinking of getting the corsair 750 proffesional edition, due to the fact that it is 80 + gold and also you can change the cables for white, but still thinking about it

the initial outlay of a gold psu doesnt really cover the cost in the amount it saves over say a bronze rated psu. you have to use them for a couple years before they pay for themselves. i say this but i do have a gold rated seasonic psu but thats just because they didnt have the platinum rated one in stock at ocuk, i only wanted it for its look though.

why do you need the 750 watts? your power usage is probably very low seeing as your gpu is powered by the pci slot.

if you really do want a gold rated psu then id get this

also a great job on the sleeving do you have any plans for performance upgrades or is it purely asthetics?

Nice build lots of fans on the side panel! How difficult did you don't the sleaving to be? Quite tempted to do this myself.

Hey there chris-82 i found that once i could get the sleeving onto the cable it was really easy, i would seriously reccomend getting the connector removal kit, as you can see above, if you mess up then you mess up big time, it should be easy once you know how to do it :P

Hey there peeps, just a quick update on my case, i wanted to make sure that the whole system was bright not just the bottom or top so here are some pics of where i have moved the white cold cathodes to, also, where the window fans connected to the plugs, i was getting bored of having to fish them out when ever i unplugged them so i came up with a smart idea, enjoy :P

cheers

To be honest mickyflinn i have no idea, i dont think i will however due to the fact that the names of the ports are written on the motherboard, i do find them usful

yes, well im more of a performance over looks person im afraid, im not a fan of people who make there machines worse to make them look good, its there to work, not to look good

Nice build. what temps difference going from a small case to full tower with very good airflow?
You have to be a bit more careful when you do it next time, but when I do something in my pc always cut my hands as well. :p
