Yes I got punkbuster errors when I first installed. You do need to update manually and then I was ok.
I'd suggest repeating and have a look at their FAQ maybe. I think you need to enable disable encryption or something on your drives so it can scan them, theres some default xp setting that can raise its heckles anyhow

This mod is really extreme so it can be a git to play if things arent going your way. Ive been playing since feb so if you have questions fire at will.
Anyone with BF2 should look anyway just for the new sounds and graphics, the gameplay requires a lot of teamwork or its frustrating
