Project Reality v0.85 released

I can't get it to find any servers?

It's as if I'm on the wrong version but I downloaded BF2 v1,4 and installed it...

of course you can! It's called being a sniper. It's not hard to get into the 10's of kills by yourself as a sniper, you just got to pretend you are a real life sniper and be stealthy. i.e. if you are in open ground you are a gonner.

That's nearly the only instance you can play solo though, plus sniper kit is limited you can't play it too often. The main part of the game demands teamwork and staying in and near your squad, plus communicating with them
 
I wish I could go back to BF2 but since having to upgrade to an 8800gt I had to turn off shadows and that made it look like crap.

Oddly 2142 worked ok but I couldn't stand it.
 
Well I found out there's a 1.41 patch too, installed that, updated PB and all worked ok.

Had a 'quick' match on a 64 player server, joined a squad and an hour later we're still wondering around the woodland and hills. I'm not sure of the map but it felt really big and looked nice and lush, plenty of foliage, the size helped it feel more like a 'war' because we didn't respawn constantly and were working as one to move across the map.

So far so good, it's revived BF2 for me thus far.

you can solo with marksman kit, and you can solo with any weapon that has any kind of scope. In fact, I bet you could solo any kit, just stay hidden constantly move and if you see someone by themselves pick them off, don't go for big packs though.

When I was a sniper once I found a rally point :D:p now that was fun, throw a few nades snipe a few people, took them ages to spot me and when they did i just run away and hoped I didn't get shot, i didn't :D.

copy and paste a shortcut to bf2, then change the target code to that. You can also change the icon :)
 
Ordered BF2 yesterday. can't wait to try this when it comes through. From what i've read it sounds like just my kind of thing, slower paced tactical squad based gameplay, something I have been looking for for ages!!

Any good servers about?
 
All the games in the list are red. I open one and it says that my cdkey isnt valid. Is there a key for Project reality or does it just the the BF2 one? I can play BF2 fine and have checked in registry and it matches the one in the DVD case on manual

edit - sorted that by adding x9392 before the key as here

but now they are still all redded out and it says i do not have the map thats in rotation.

to get all the levels do you have to download both the client (core) and client (levels)

I just have the core at the moment but presumed this is the main including the levels as its over 1.8gb
 
I think using EA download is possible

PR is quite cutting edge. Before BC did it, PR had destructible buildings. Before BC did it, PR has caches you had to hunt down and destroy.
Its not an arcade game though or mainstream
 
it might aswell be a game on its own :D they modded everything on that game:).


Thats mint. Well i hope EA get there act together and produce something as good as PR or even POE for BF3 :)
 
If you mean the main menu etc, then they have!

Its a nice cross between BF2 font on a BF2142 layout and colour.

First time I played was 0.42 or somet when it was just a harsher version on BF2, last time was version 6 which added a few maps/ spawn restrictions but now its gone on to a greater level, not liking no mini map while on foot thou but in the essence of reality it works.

Also theres a dam lot more people playing it too, great mod and well worth the download all be it 3.5Gb.

Finally I have a question, do EA in anyway fund BSS as there is an advert fo PR when I log into BF2 and would they be in the running for making a full BF title i.e BF3!
