UPDATE 07/05/09

The other mod (well not really a mod) is spraying my DVD drive, this was given the first coat tonight but needs a second one to finish it off, not really pic worthy at the moment! Also need to cut the drive bays to fit the stealth bezel from a Lian Li but that won't be done for a while yet..

Well i lied :D

Finished spraying the DVD case today, only needed a 2nd coat as missed a few patches, used some old Halford gloss black paint I found in my dads shed, came out well for a tin that has probably sat there for god knows how many years!

Also, thought whilst I was doing it I might as well do the edges of the drive bays, the Lian Li bezel is wider so you need to trim the edges so it can fit past and screw in onto the outer edges of the 5 1/2" drive bays, one hacksaw job later to cut the first edge down, then put into a vice and bent it and it snapped with a nice clean edge. Just needs a filling a coat of paint to cover what came off:

I cut it down two drive bays just in case I ever go for a 2nd drive with a stealth bezel, will save a lot of hassle if this ever happens in the future!

Thanks again for looking

UPDATE: 11/05/09

Only a small update really. I used Retrogamers idea of using the drive bay cover to mount the res's on, so drilled out two holes on their and have got them mounted now:

I have also filed down the sharp edges from the drive bay sides ready for a lick of paint to cover the bits that came off when cutting them off, not pic worthy though :)

Please tell me that's going on the outside of your case to give it that "mad scientists' experiment gone wrong" look! :D

PK!

UPDATE: 12/05/09

Did a test fitting for the drive bay holders and noticed I hadn't cut enough of it off so had to take them out and trim a bit more off, finished results are below:

Now that I had got them finally sorted I could start to mount some of my hardware back into my case and do some basic plumbing ready and waiting for the motherboard to go in, though asmaiting until end of the month for the blocks.

Below is the bezel all mounted finally, had been a saga modding the case to get this in but looks quite sleek:

Unfortunately don't have many pictures of the build taking place, batteries in my other camera were dead so had to use my one, which frankly is crap, so a lot of the photos I took with it came out blurred or just not that good at all.

Both pumps in bottom of the case:

And connecting to one res:

The other loop is below, the double rad will be for the graphics card and the triple rad is for the chipset and cpu:

Thats it so far, really can't do a lot more until the end of the month as need the nb/sb block on the motherboard and the CPU itself before can really proceed.

Thanks for looking guys :)

Cheers guys :)

Have now ordered my 920 d0 from here so hopefully that will come tomorrow (or hope it does as long as someone is in when they come knocking at the door!) so should have a basic CPU only loop up and running and at least let me have a PC back - been without one for nearly 3 weeks now!

Will then be waiting until the end of the month for the following:

MIPS Chipset block
Heatkiller 3.0 - will be using my D-Tek Fuzion V2 with 1366 mount in mean time
PSU - won't be installed instantly, will be fully braiding it first
Possibly new RAM - undecided still on this but will definately be replaced with something nice :)

Just looking forward to having a working rig this weekend!

Received the CPU, looks like I got a good batch number from the research I have done on the net :D

Batch No: 3850A795

Nelly got 4.2ghz @ 1.264v with this batch and rjkneil got his super pi run @ 4.6ghz with just over 1.4v!

Obviously still luck of the draw with the chip itself but i'm hopefully I can get similar clocks with this one! :)
