Suspension components are kind of both. Common rule is that a 2 kg lighter damper is 1kg of unsprung mass.

Two brake calipers that are 5kg lighter each is hardly going to make the car accelerate like it has lost 80kg.

Sorry I should have been clearer - not in terms of overall mass... (for acceleration et cetera) But in 'reactive' mass. It should react and handle like it weighed 80Kg less. :)

I'm trying to remember a few issues of CCC from the mid-nineties and I don't have the most accurate memory so, as I said before, I could be wrong :)

The wheels will just be more keen to follow the road without resorting to low rebound damping and/or higher spring rates. Nothing like taking 80kg off a car. You cant do much about inertia. Wheel weight will actually effect acceleration, and probably to a degree where the driver notices the effect more so than the suspension characteristics.

I think your ratio is some thing more like a flywheel mass reduction effect in low gears.

No need to go standalone. What was the max WHbhp you got of it in the end?

I believe he got around the 160bhp mark.

Out of interest Paul, with all the mods on it, it's lack of mileage and pretty good condition how much would you sell it for?

Can you make much back on the mods?

There is if I want throttle bodies or boost :) I got 155 at the fly I think, can't find the printout its in some box somewhere.

I'm not selling it mate, but if I did I'd return it as much to standard as possible and sell the bits seperately.

Got a new steering wheel. Mint condition tiny leather momo including saxo boss for a bargain price from my mate. :D

Sending my ecu off to chipwizards tomorrow so wayne can have a gander and see whats up with it.

Dont need standalone managment for TB's, talk to wayne schofield ;) 155 at fly :( Shame you did not break the 160 barrier

Really? He said something about developing some TBs to work with standard management when it was originally there. I will ask him when he lets me know what is wrong with my ecu.

Yeah 155 but he said there was something wrong with it breathing at top end when it was mapped and that if that was sorted it would be over 160. The exhaust was blowing quite bad when it went in and it had the standard airbox so it could have been that. But he's got my ecu at the mo so I'll see whats up with it in a few days!

Fitted the steering wheel and to my suprise that crappy fake carbon plate is removable so looks alright fitted, just need a centre cap.

Yes but been disconnected for a long time as they are useless.

My friend had a head on crash at 70mph in his vtr and it didn't go off, I was battering along a country lane in my old vtr and the airbag went off when hammering over a bump.

ahh fair enough! maybe its just vtr? or all saxo's?

No because I'm a slack **** and only sent it yesterday.

No rush really though MOT has just ran out and I've no idea how i'm going to get it to pass emmissions :p
