Projector for Gaming?

I have a Samsung Synchmaster T240 24" LCD minitor and recently bought a 5850 graphics card. I also have an old Dell 2200Mp multimedia projector which has a slight fault on it.

Should I get the old projector repaired for games, look for a new projector or simply get anothet monitor to go with the Samsung??

Any advice on which models would also be good.

If you can afford a new projector then thats what I would get, there are some reasonably cheap 720p ones availible. I played Xbox on a mates projector and the experiance was awsome. But if you do decide to go down the eyefinity route, it would be best to get another Samsung the same as you have now.
 
Slightly off topic but imagine 3 projectors in eyefinity, now that would be rather cool :)
On topic, if you're used to a projector then by all means get it repaired or get a new one, I'd be happy to just stick to monitors though :)
 
Are the projectors really worth it? I've always fancied a massive projected image infront of me but the cost of trying it to find out that I don't like it really puts me off :)
 
I would rather have one massive image than 3 smaller ones for gaming - although I can't say I've tried an eyefinity setup but I have played pc games and a few 360 / Wii games on my mates PJ and it's an amazing setup he's got, his PJ is a good few years old now and still makes HD content @ 720p look stunning!

Shame that my current room is too small for a decent PJ setup - if you have the room for it then I would say go for a newer PJ and enjoy the massive image :)
 
I've been quoted approx £95 to repair the projector which cost me £700 new. The thing is it's quite old now (2005) and I'm wondering whether it's worth it but there is loads of bulb life left. I think even though it's old and quite noisy I'll go ahead and get it fixed. The annoying part is that they charge a £65 fee just to look at it. If they can't fix they will keep the projector and waive the fee obviously gaining the spare parts.
 
The difficult bit is getting a gaming setup - consoles are fine as you have the controller - but PC with keyboard + mouse needs a little different setup.

Make sure you get a gaming/home cinema projector and atleast 720p - don't be tempted by cheap SD/business projectors as they are designed for static high contrast/low complexity images and for movies/gaming kinda dissapointing.

I found it was brilliant for some games and got in the way a bit for others.
 
I have a 720p projector but I cannot game on it... it isn't really suitable for fps and I find it more tiring to play on it for long periods of time so I got eyefinity! The projector is now only used for movies and I prefer it this way.
 
Depends on the game - some of them you sort of cancel out the bezels and its not too bad - others its really distracting.

2 or 6 displays doesn't work too well you really need a display in the middle of your vision.
