Property in US

basically detroit, loads of propertys for $100-$2000, basically pee cheap, loads are just boarded up etc, repos due to the recession.

Hmm £2000 a year, indeed thats a fair amount, it was just the idea of getting somewhere in US i romanticised with, may start looking towards countries that will be attempting EU membership within the next 15years instead, may have to put it on hold while i get myself into a career, literally just want to buy somewhere CHEAP and do it up.

If you're really keen on cheap property, go for an east European EU member state. Bulgaria is looking good at the moment.

Eastern Europe is a far far better idea. Up and coming rather than going down the pan, excuse for some good trans-Europe road trips, cheap flights actually mean you can get out there more, being in the EU means you're pretty much already a citizen. Might be a bit more expensive up front, but it's a far more realistic idea.

indeed, will probably have to freeze idea for year or 2 then as im currently finishing degree so dont have the income to get somewhere outright like I could in america, so I wont look at bulgaria either, Ill look at one of them due to join at a later date, one of them thats bidding with macedonia or something.
