www.houseprices.co.uk will tell you the last sale price and date of sale (for free), so as long as it hasnt changed hands since this will give you the information you want. Information is taken from the land registry.

Yeah already checked there, but the property was recently repossessed and sold, but need to find out when it was repossessed and for how much it sold.

Looks like the landregistry is the only option, will look into that as the information is required by someone at work to see if someone is liable for a mortgage shortfall of 50 grand!
