Proposal

I did the old bended knee routine in our lounge first thing on Christmas Day morning. She goes to church with her family in the morning (I don't go along, the burning sensation puts me off) so it made for a nice private proposal, but she got to show the ring off to friends and family.

I did make a slight miscalculation though. It was her little sisters 18th birthday too. I kind of stole her thunder a little. (She was fine with it though, thankfully.)

Told her I'd swallowed a Monopoly piece by accident during a drunken misadventure, when I'd really swallowed the engagement ring. Three days of her checking my poop later, she found the ring and I proposed.

And that's how I married my carer.

Everyone knows that you're supposed to propose at Universal Studios when Jaws pops out of the water.

SNOOGANS!

To be honest, my proposal isn't overly romantic, we were on the way to Amsterdam for our first holiday without parents, as a couple. We were still in Hull Port when I whipped out the ring, didn't get down on 1 knee, didn't even ask the question, she just said yes. Getting married in 7 weeks

I've done it twice now.
First time, on her 21st birthday at the top of the Eiffel Tower. Standing behind her, gave her a hug then reached into my pocket, pulled out the ring box, opened it, brought it round to the front and said "will you?" A bunch of American tourist girls burst into applause.

Second time, I went to work as planned whilst my other half met her best mate and few close friends for their morning dog walk. I then circled home, got suited and booted and went to the cafe at the local parkland. She was steered in to find me on one knee, ring in hand. After the surprise came the tearful acceptance. The bar owner (very switched on) popped open a couple of bottles of champers for us all, whic was a nice touch. As it was already a special place for us (prior to the proposal) that is where we got married (3 weeks ago).

A several people have said, find something special to you both and go for that. All the best, OP.

Was this twice with the same person?

I proposed to my Mrs at the bottom of my Gran's garden whilst the sun was setting over the trees with a beautiful orange sky. Her garden is very long, and opens out onto a rolling countryside :)
Then we went and got fish and chips with my Gran and Aunt to celebrate :D

My Mrs hates being the centre of attention, I knew if I did anything public and cringey she would never forgive me.

I presented her a Diamond in a tension setting for the deed itself, so she could choose the right design herself afterwards. Seemed to go down well :)

I did it in the woods. lol

We stayed overnight at a B&B in Kielder so I took a ring with me (just a cheap one).
Next morning on the way home we stopped off for a walk in some woods as it was really sunny. After 20 mins we came to a dead end with a huge waterfall.
So I proposed there.

I had the ring just in case but wasn't sure if I'd get a good chance. Luckily I did.

We then stopped off and bought a proper ring on the way home then got married in Hawaii as we were going there anyway. Just last September!

No offence to anybody in particular but some of these are soooo cheesy, I would have laughed instead of saying yes lol

I think when (if) I propose it won't be in front of a crowd of people in a public place. Neither of us like attention like that!

Discovery Cove is a great place but I reckon you could do it in a more personal and intimate way :). What if Flipper **** blocks you or steals the ring?

:D:D:D:p

Hmmmm, anyone know any nice romantic places in Florida?

Key West could set a nice scene especially with the sunset.

I can't remember popping the question at all!.
My advice is do it sober unlike me.
Cant be all that bad though as we'll be married 13 years this Sunday.

I proposed to my fiancée in the kitchen, correctly guessing this was the last place she'd expect me to do it.

Came up behind her, popped the question and brought my hands round in front of her to present the ring box. She literally fell backwards into my arms with a highly satisfying gasp. Good times!

Been married nearly 8 years now.

Went on holiday to Italy, had a weekend in Rome while there so went out for a meal and then for a walk round one of the plaza type places. did it there.

Final night of a two week Holiday in Lake Garda, suggested we went for a nice meal rather than the hotel for the final night. Went for cocktails afterwards and then it was getting late so we were just leaving to walk back to the hotel and I said "Oh we should have one last wander over by the water".

Walked along to a secluded area where there were some seats and said "Come and sit over here I have something to ask". Ring box had been in my camera bag for two weeks and in my pocket all that night. Whipped the ring out and popped the question. She was completely blown away, it was deffo one of the best moments of my life.

The flight home was so exciting, we went to see my mum and dad the next day. I hadn't told another soul on earth that I was going to propose, spent weeks ring shopping prior under the guise of "buying holiday clothes".

I would hate to be someone who got nagged into proposing, what a turn off...

Not possible any more, they've closed Jaws down :( Love Mallrats though.

As for me, I actually did propose to my wife at Discovery Cove in Florida, though I did it myself while we were in one of the pools, rather than getting a dolphin to do it. She knew I would propose on holiday though as we'd already talked about it, so it was nice to not be nervous considering I already knew what her answer would be!
