Me and my mate were down the boozer and started talking bout what team WE would pick if we were England manager! Now first of all we agreed on form not NAME, bloomin beckham makes me sick, gerrard and lampard CANNOT play together and so on.. :o

Goalkeeper: Sorted
Defence: Is probably where we're international leaders
Midfield Left to Right: Joe Cole, Kevin Nolan, Steven Gerrad, Shaun Wright-Phillips
Attack: Wayne Rooney, James Beatie

What do you guys thing of that? I would give my right leg to see this team play! :p

All the best :)

I think that could work if Cole and Beckham remember that they can't spend the whole game in the opposition half.

does it matter what we would pick , the side is set in stone ( if fit )

Robinson

Oedipus , Terry , Plug , Cole

Beckham , Gerrard , Fwank , Cole

Rooney , Owen

lets be honest , injury permitting , this is the side without any question

I agree.

I just can't see the others getting ahead of those listed above.

----------- Robinson ------------

G. Neville - Terry - Brown - A. Cole

--- Beckham - Nolan - Gerrard ---
------------- Lampard ----------

----------------------Rooney
----------------Owen

Gerrard/Lampard/Nolan would all swap and change when necessary.

Robinson.

Brown-Ferdinand-Terry- Cole (if fit)

Gerrard-Carrick-Austin- J Cole.

Rooney - Owen (if fit)

Gerrard isnt as good as Austin going forward, or as good a footballer, but he IS a better player than Beckham and so would play instead of him on the right.

Brown is a better right back than Neville.
If Owen is not match fit, then i would play Bent up front on his own with Rooney going where ever he pleases making it 4-4-1-1.

This is my line up. Beckham is in because SWP is no longer the player he was, and I think is actually going backwards under Mourinho. While he did wonders for J.Cole, it hasn't worked for SWP. If he wants to progress I really feel he needs to a new club.

With Ferdinands style of play really suited to playing as a sweeper, I think 3 at the back is a viable option. With Carraghers ability to play LB and CH, Terry being the ultimate stopper, I feel the back line would be really difficult to break down.

With Carrick breaking up the play at the back it gives both Gerrard and Lampard the chance to go forward. With J. Cole and Beckham pinging in crosses, Gerrard, Lampard and Rooney breaking forward, and Owen lurking, there will be goals aplenty.

If Owen is unfit, you then have to make a choice between Bent and Crouch. I don't think Defoe should even be on the plane TBH.

I'm going with Gerrard on current form. If Lampard was in form as well then I wouldn't know who to pick out of the two.

I've chosen Bent ahead of Crouch because his alround play is much better --> better player imo. I would still take Crouch to Germany along with Owen.
