looking over my old thread, too much has changed for it to be worth reviving.:o

so here goes.

Proposed loop:

attachment.php

in Legend, the Pink Rad is a typo. that should be Res.

Basket:

Tubing Cutter
Phobya Quick Release Bulkhead Fitting with 2 x 1/4" Female Threads : Black Nickel
2 x Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120mm Case Fan 1850 RPM : D1225C12B5AP-15
4 x 1/4" Thread 45° Rotary Compression Fitting for 1/2" ID - 3/4" OD (13-19mm) Tubing : Black
9 x EK PSC 1/4" Thread Compression Fitting for 1/2" ID - 3/4" OD Tubing : Black
4 x 1/4" Thread 90° Rotary Compression Fitting for 1/2" ID - 3/4" OD (13-19mm) Tubing : Black Nickel
EK Multioption Reservoir Res X2 150 Basic
8 x M4 x 30mm Button Allen Head Screw : Black
24 Pin ATX Power Supply Bridging Plug (Jump-Start)
NZXT 200cm Sleeved LED Kit in White : CB-LED-20WT
XSPC Razor GTX690 Full Cover Waterblock

ive already got:
Pump
XSPC raystorm CPU block
Rads (EX240 + SR1 360mm)
fans (bar 2)
XSPC white tubing

really not sure where to put the quick release:confused:

im ordering an extra of each type of compression fitting just in case of leaks/spare/loop reconfiguration.

any comments?
Im not an XSPC fanboy or anything, I only noticed the brand swing when i was looking at my basket. This will be my first loop.

components:
CM storm Stryker
Asrock Z77 Extreme6
3570K
GTX690
16 corsair Vengeance 1866mhz
Ax1200
Akasa FC.6
Xonar D2X

any comments or suggestions?

XSPC are a top top WC brand so don't be afraid to put as much XSPC as possible in your basket :D

What case is that (aerocool?)? The 'pink' rad location is confusing me. Saying that the 240+360 you already have is more than enough for a 3570K+690.

For QDC's I haven't heard great things about the Phobya ones (minor leaks). Splash out on some Koolance QDC's ;)

Thanks for the reply. ill swap out the QDC. where would you put it in the loop?

The case is a cooler master Storm Stryker.

The pink box isnt a rad. that was a error. its a Res, specifically EK Multioption Reservoir Res X2 150 Basic

yea im a little overkill on rad now i imagine. the rads were bought for a 6990+3570K. got a deal on a gtx690, which runs much cooler, but i figured extra rad cant hurt anyway, seeing as i own it already.

240+360 will be ideal I would say.

Ahh I should read a little closer, it does say Storm Stryker in your OP :o

Loop order looks fine, I would spend the extra £4-5 on the EK X2 150 Advanced though, it offers more routing ports so you could have in/out/fill/drain all coming from the res.

You could place the QDC's between the pump>690 and between CPU>Top rad, this way you could disconnect to remove the motherboard etc..

Hi Mr Tea bag!
What do you want to do with QDCs?
If they are for draining, you can do almost the same with a T fitting and a drain valve at a much lower cost!
I used QDCs for the purpose of removing components without draining loop.

I would agree with pgi947 on the quick disconnect position. If you put them either side of the CPU/GPU blocks it'll let you remove the MB completely whilst leaving the rest of the loop intact.

You could do it really tastefully if you got QDC's with G1/4 threaded terminations rather than barbs, screw one into the res and one coming out of a 45 from the CPU block :)

Koolance QDC's are really quite nice looking anyhow :D

I don't think there is any room to do it before the res :(

what's the best way to set up a drain port?

You could either have a bit of tubing with a stop plug coming from the bottom of the res or install a T-Line at the lowest part of the loop with stop plug/ball valve.

might do the tubing out the bottom of the res. should be neater as I can hide it behind the pump.

thanks lads. any other suggestions?
