I'm thinking, hold fire with my 7900 for a while till the 9800's come out and take a look at prices then.

Always been an AMD man, i'll go out of my way to avoid Intel.

Just my pref :D:D:D:D

Seriously if your spending that amount of money go for Intel, your crazy if you dont.

Stop favoring one company over another, thats extremely childish.

Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - OEM
Tuniq Tower 120 CPU Cooler (Socket 478/754/939/940/AM2/LGA775)
Abit IP35 Pro (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-5300C3 667MHz Dual Channel Kit
OcUK GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - OEM
Corsair HX 620W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU
Antec P182 Super Midi Tower Case - No PSU

Total : £849.38

Thats like £1 more than your spec but much, much better performance wise.

EDIT: Added more stuff

This would vastly outperform the kit above. The case is the same but not shiny. Though the shinyness looks cool, it's in no way worth £35.25 more.

You beat me too it again Billy grrr. But yours isn't a full spec like mine :)

If you can strech it get the 4gb but you will need vista 64 bit. if not just take 46 quid off the total on my spec.

Billys may look cheaper but you dont have artic silver or a cpu cooler which are both required as thats an OEM cpu :P

:EDIT: I wasn't aware the geil ram was on special offer. If you are buying this week then get that instead of the OZ ram in my spec up as its just as good but cheaper due to special offer.

:EDIT:

Removed Spec because its not intel ... what a shame..

Without being rude, as somebody who owns a small business trying to compete against the likes of Tesco etc etc, I like to support the smaller company. Childish, not sure about that.

Thats why I come here, not head off to Alienware or Rock to buy a top end pre built pc from them, Childish, not sure about that.

Even if you decide to stay with the AMD kit you have in your OP, you should consider the PSU and RAM I recommended. They're excellent kit at a good price. :)

EDIT: You could also get the 520 Watt version of the same PSU to save a bit of money.

You would rather have amd because you consider them to be the smaller company?

Thats more like saying you rather by from morisons then tescos because they are a bit smaller.

Ok, Let me put it another way.

I like AMD, I like the company message they give out.

Same as, I like Nvidia, I'm not a big fan of ATI.

I have a cat, not a dog

I like HD-dvd, not a fan of blu-ray

I like Bitter, not lager

I like Burger king, not the other one

Each to their own.

ps. I also like marmite

If you choose to waste your money on the poor amd offering that makes you ignorant and stupid. Im sorry but it does make you a fan boy and one whos wasting a lot of money and wont be able to play all those nice games at top quality on a nicely overclocked intel cpu.

A 50 quid Intel cpu that will start at 1.6ghz will overclock up to 3.2ghz. Do that on an amd ;)

Seens as my spec which i spent time doing in a previous post isn't intel ill remove it as its taking up space in the forum for no reason.

If you want to come onto a forum and ask for advice from people that actualy know a thing or too. Its a very bad idea to start saying ignorant things like i only like amd. I dont like ati. Infact how can you like amd and not ati. You do know they are now both amd? lol.

You wont get much help doing so.

Your coming on a forum for advice are you not?

Whats the point if your not going to take any advice that you are giving?

Yes, I am, totally.

On an AMD system I am thinking about, The pro's and con's of THAT system.

And I thank people very much for their input on that.

I'm not trying to be sold an Intel based system that i'm not, from the start, interested in.

I was only asking.

Ok, I thank you for your advice so far, it's very good of you to share it.

I'm not sure what else to say.

I'm sorry I did not take the advice.
