i know about myprotein.co.uk but am wondering as to what is good to buy and what not to bother with.

im around 12 stone and wanting to increase both my weight and muscle mass while avoiding putting a gut on lol.

is it best just to go for whey or is there an advantage in going for the other proteins they offer?

could some one give me a simple idea as to the different types of whey and specifically the best bang for buck so to speak.

sorry for comming across a bit fickle about this lol all new ground to me

Guess it depends on your goals - if you want just pure whey protein then thats cool, but if you want to build muscle and get bigger then different mixes may be better suited (if that makes sense)
I personally just have the whey protein tubs. My morning one I will bung a load of oats and flax seed oil in to add content.
My new personal favourite is MuscleMilk - has loads of good reasons to buy it but my number one is the pure taste and variety of them all!

Chocolate Milk tastes like a freaking Oreo Milkshake when added with milk - love them!!

Oh also that site is really good to compare brands etc

If you have to ask then no, there's no advantage in anything other than the Euro80 whey (aka Impact Whey Protein aka Whey Protein Concentrate) ;) Joking apart, there are some good products on MP for specific situation and aims but in general the Euro80 is a great all rounder.

Go here:

and type either "www.bulkpowders.co.uk" or "www.sports-nutrition.net" for the best prices on whey

Add MP9726 at the checkout for a further 5% off :)

(2.5kg of Whey Protein Concentrate 80 (EURO) [Tubbed])

Is this the stuff you mention? I want to get it ordered today as i've run out :(

Yep thats the one........or if you've had it before and are happy with it (being unflavoured and all) you could for one of the 5kg/10lbs offers.

First time, i was on Pro-Mass, Dorian Yates CNP professional, and it was ok but wanted something else and was wondering whether I should get vanilla or unflavoured?

I've said it before and i'll say it again....

If you're taking (whey) protein shakes because they tastes nice you're taking them for the wrong reasons!! ;)

I know some people are real fussy about food and flavours but with water its really bland and just tastes like weak milk. Worst case scenario you could add some nesquik or similar (pure cocoa works quite well). In my limited experience of Dorian Yates endorsed products they don't mix very well, leaving you with a rather thick shake. The MP whey mixes and dissolves so easily, you'll be amazed :)

Just done a quick google on Pro-mass and its got a whole load of carbs in there. The MP whey is exactly what it says on the tin, 100% whey protein (80% actual protein hence the name Euro80). There's no colours, flavours, added carbs etc......nothing. If you want to add those carbs in i'd recommend getting some oats and blending them dry in a blender to produce a fine flour. Add this as necessary to your MP whey to get something similar to the pro-mass. Doing it this way you know exactly the amounts of protein and carbs in your shakes, that there's no added ingredients and you don't have to pay for the marketing BS ;)

Cool cool, ordering it later when i get a chance :o) i use a blending electric whisk thing to mix so chucking in a scoop of molasses wont be hard or ice cream :D
