Protein Supplements

2.8 grams of protein per kg of body weight is the recommended upper limit for young males / females

too much protein can cause kidney stones

i personally ise dymatize elite whey - good tasting, no side affects, aspartame free and suitable for veges.

I think farting when working out, and when idle, is normal when bulking, so don't worry about it. Myprotein is a good website, though the holland barrett stuff didn't give me the runs...

Promax

I've tried these for a while, and very good to mix, (in water so it says on the tub) - and most importantly, very good on your stomach - was with me anyway :) -ain't cheap though

MY Bench press, and Military press increased a lot while I was on this supp. When I get back on the weights, I will start buying these supp's again (cheaper if you buy 3 - as you get one free - 4 for £95.87).

1 scoop a day for "energy", 2 for definition, 3 scoops for "gain" (3 scoops per day will last about <2 weeks> or thereabouts

I envy you... my lifestyle just doesn't allow me to eat as well as I'd like. Supplements are a godsend for people like me.

I'm lucky to have access to quality food suppliers and don't mind cooking but it does take work.

How I'll cope in a few years when I have kids is another matter entirely...

Christ they really are aiming low with their marketing campaigns, only a complete fool would believe that sort of nonsense and pay those ridiculous prices for products which are average at best.

LOL. Many ppl really are brainwashed into believing they really do need these pills and powders to progress. It's simply not true.

havent read all of this thread

the protien shakes from H&B made my ecezma flare up quite bad, i then moved onto the maximuscle range which was quite good, but too expensive

I don't believe taking in massive amounts of protein is correct or even healthy for everybody though. It's common sense that your body will only use so much of the stuff.
Massive amounts of protein is for people looking to build muscle mass only.

Anyway, good luck with your training.

You really shouldn't go trying to "advise" other people on something you clearly have no idea about.

worked for me :) - whether or not it may be suitable for others depends from Individual, to individual. IE: an hard gainer would do better with a Weight gain product, like Progain :D

I think when I get paid on thursday I'll be buying in bulk from myprotein, give it a try. I'm sure it'll be a bit blander in taste but at £22.49 for 4500g vs £9.95 for 908g from H&B theres no contest really ;)

Hi - an offer that seems to be very good value for money. I have just purchased 4 tubs!

2 TUBS OF 2.27KG UNFLAVOURED WHEY FOR £19.99

We are very pleased to announce that this offer is still available and to claim simply input muscletalk in the coupon section on the checkout page or call the sales team and you will receive a HUGE £19.99 discount.

http://www.sports-nutrition.net/

Dudes, don't forget the link & code I posted, 10lb of unflavoured protein for £19.99 + £2.95 P&P using the special offer code. Cheaper than myprotein, and AFAIK cheapest in the UK at the moment

what do you all take your protein with??

I find that mixing it with milk is the nicest but it sits heavy on my stomach so ive been mixing it with water which is a bit horrid.

it says on the tub you can mix it with juice too :/
