I think it was the same, but P2 seems to have far more moves that jump you accross the screen which means that when the camera doesn't keep up it's that much more disorienting.
They've also borked the time at which they give you some of the unlocks this time around. Whipfist was crazy overpowered in P1 but the answer was to tone it down for the sequel, rather than give it to you one mission before the end of the game, by which point it's useless. Same for helicopter hijacking. By the time I got that in P2 I was literally unstoppable.
