Worth noting to some, that in general terms a 'free trial' to a subscription based service is just that - a free trial period to a full subscription...you are signing up to the FULL subscription in every single one I've ever seen. It clearly states this countless times too as you sign up.
You sign up to the full service, but they just give you a period of time where they do not charge you.
So just to clarify, they are NOT being sly, or sneaky by offering free trials then auto-renewing. You have already signed up to the full subscription service on a typically monthly rolling contract.
The point is, that you get your free trial and unless they hear anything from you they assume you have been happy with the service and wish to continue the subscription now that the first payment date is due. It's very quick and easy to cancel in this period otherwise.
It would be sneaky and incorrect of them to auto-renew you on a 12 month service but that's not the case and I've never seen it to be the case with trials
Also, while we don't read all the T&C of everything, there are important points you should always read before signing. One of these is about cancellations, and your commitment to any contractural agreement that may run for a period of time.
