Anyone think a third party is likely to ever do this or even a 360 style controller for the PS3?

I'm just thinking that obviousley people have their preferences for a console and their preferences for a controller but they are not always part of the same package.

I can get my Logitech PS style controller to work on the PS3 no problems, I still havent tried it on the 360, but even if it did work I would prefer to have wireless rather than connect via usb!

Maybe a third party should try and come up with a hybrid of the two controllers taking the best elements of both and squeezing them into one all rounder.

out of curiosity, whats a good element of the PS controller that the 360 controller doesnt have?
difficult to put my finger on it but the 360 controller feels awkward to me. If there was a PS style controller out for the 360 I would buy one tomorrow.

i think the 360 controller is one of the comfiest out there to use. although people do have their preferances. i dont think a hybrid will be made though. it would overload it with buttons?
But the 360 controller has exactly the same number of buttons and very similar positioning to the PS3's. It could be done.

I personally find the PS controller the most comfy, but as you say it's all down to preference.

Don't laugh at the fanboys, they get upset :(
sorry how is this thread in any way fanboy related? Both the 360 and PS3 have very well designed controllers imo but it stands to reason that people will prefer one over the other and that it's down to personal preference!

I openly admit that I prefer the PS3 just because I am so used to using a PS style controller, but the problem is that I now have both consoles so switching between the two I always will prefer one. If I got a 360 and didn't have a PS3 then I wouldn't be bothered as I would just have to get used to it.

It's not, I never said it was.
Sorry - then that comment about not laughing went completely over my head!

Not sure what you meant by it but my bad if you meant nowt!

now you mention it the d-pad is pretty lame on the 360... I have accidentally pushed left when I meant to push up etc countless times - they should make them individual buttons rather than one big round thing!

It's strange how the 360 pad feels so much more well built than the Sixasis considering that he PS3 feels a lot better build quality wise than the 360!!!

Think its your best option and will work with PS2 controllers.
Also allows mouse and keyboard support

Look out for reviews....

I think I will probably just stick to the 360 controller for now, thanks anyway. I can't go back to having wires everywhere in my wirefree lounge.
