PS+ & Sub-Accounts

I've been with PS+ for >2 years so I have quite a build up of games on PS3/Vita.

However, with PS4 later this year my intention is to create a new ID. Currently, PS3 is mostly used offline with 360 being online but all my mates are changing to PS4 so I want a better PSN ID for all the online gaming.

My current one is bumblebee-85, which was inherited via my wife after I ditched my old one 3 years ago and just started using hers too. (This is the one with PS+)

Anyone know if I create a new ID as a Sub-Account of bumblebee-85 will my new ID have access to the library of PS+ games?

On PS3 it's fine as they work on any account I have on the console but I can only have 1 account on Vita and not sure how PS4 will work. Just wondered if it was official anywhere that sub-accounts on a PS+ account can access the library of games

I'll put the Q to Sony if nobody here as any experience of trying this or has already asked about it.

From what they have said all sub accounts on the PS4 will have PS+ access as long as the main account is subscribed.

Wow that's awesome if they go through with it.

Tried doing some searches earlier but can't get on any such pages at work.

Just means I can just leave PS3 on current PSN ID master account and split it from Vita/PS4 by creating a new Sub-Account.

To be honest, I expected this wouldn't work so it's good news that they are suggesting it will.

A bit off-topic that doesn't really have a point but this has just reminded me to check my PSN account and update it!

I signed up back at the beginning of 2007 when I signed up to XBL Gold to make sure if I ever got a PS3 I'd be able to have the same tag/ID on both.

Back then I wasn't sure if I'd stick with online play or not. 6 years later and now I've really grown quite attached to my "handle" lol As it looks like I'm opting for PS4 this time round I'm quite glad I signed up to PSN all that time ago. It means my OCD isn't going to go crazy :)

Though on topic, very interesting news if sub accounts DO get full access to PS+ if the main account is a subscriber

It works the same as on PS3, so if one account has Plus any games downloaded can be played by any other account on that PS3, same with internet access.

However with the PS3 you could also add your main account to a second PS3 (E.g your mate's one) and he could also play your games provided you downloaded them onto his console (same with any DLC or anything bought on the store). Im not sure how that part works with PS4, perhaps with the online multiplayer now being behind a paywall they may have removed that feature to stop two seperate people from sharing the one Plus subscription, but I dont know.

It's a shame they couldn't 'officially' link sub-accounts though to the master account and offer a shared download list rather than having to manually change accounts. Not exactly a major inconvenience but would still be better if it was linked properly.

1 other point actually which is quite important and I've only just thought of...

Will the other accounts on the PS4 be able to play online multiplayer?
It's clear I can still play the games as we can now, but as online is only available through Plus, and the accounts are not 'officially' linked I'm not sure if this would work.

I wish I remembered this stuff at home so I could just find out - but I always seem to think of things at work and no gaming related sites are allowed.

Yes I'm assuming I will be able to...but I guess until this is made official I'll just wait and see.

Basically the reason I'm wondering is I've bought up a few cheap 12 month PS+ subscriptions for £15-£20 through deals and coupons and mine runs out on 5th September.

So unsure as to whether I extend my current one a few years, or just spend the next 9 weeks playing any of the freebies I actually want to play then create a new PSN and put the Plus subscriptions on there once next gen hits.

If it's already set...then great. I've still got until Sept to decide either way what to do.

Excellent, I didn't think it would strip the MP element out, but hadn't read anything concrete. :D

Downside is I guess loads of people will have dupe accounts for being douche bags online.
