Hi All, i am trying to work out the best connectics for my ps2 to my LCD tv, currently i am using a Blaze gold plated RGB scart which i have to say is a noticable improvement over the standard RCA adapters supplied with the console.

is component worth it over RGB SCART? cable should cpost me between -10 squid i reck for a half decent one.

i mainly play Tekken5, Resi4, and GT4, now i believe T5 provides prog Scan over component?

are there any issues with component, i have read stories with mixed reaction,

Thanks

i have a £30 ioxis(?) component cable the dogs nuts for sure and it isn't noticeable any better than RGB in my experience.

I have the Game PS2 component leads and find them to offer a much sharper picture than Scart. I noticed the difference immediately.

I hooked my PS2 up to my Samsung 26" HDTV and it was horrid? Using RGB scart, I booted ICO and it looked like sick. Was kinda like the pixels were magnified (yes I forced the HD to 4:3). Its strange, because the GC looks alright through it. Any tips?

lol go component? thats what im gonna try anyhow, if that doesnt work, ill be routing it through my PC for VGA output...

basically it seems that 99% of PAL games have not got prog. scan support, or any of the other niceities of NTSC releases, thus im going NTSC.

Tekken5 looks great regadless in PAL60,

GT4 looks horrid, - read unplayable, thus im shopping it in for an American version hoping it can look a bit better?

Well yeh I could go component, but that would mean swapping it with my 360 each time, unless theres some kinda splitter I guess. Was wondering if I could get it better via scart, I was just suprised at how much worse it looks than the Gamecube on the HD.

yea not many other answers tbh... i mean i have a blaze RGB gold scart which must be up there with the best form of scart u can get from a ps2, but it just doesnt cut it tbh. im not sure if composite woud be any better, but it dosnt do prog scam ec

The American version supports 1080i thru component so its bound to look a lot better, tis the sole reason i bought the US PS2

Did you enable 1080i mode on gt4?

didnt know you could on GT4 PAL?

i have GT4NTSC from auction aririving next week, i get my component cable tomorrow. then i will be able to try Resi4 Prog Scan!

atm still om BlazeRGB

I dont know what version I had, some of my games were us ones and some jap. Don't forget though that games from other regions wont work without "special measures".

Sorry to hijack thread a bit but I've found a place on t'Internet that sells USA PS2s for £120. Do you have to faff about with power transformers and things like that or can just plug the console in with a UK lead?
