Ps2 games on ps3?

Can anyone please tell me if resident evil 4 will play on my ps3 its the 40gig version.

Just wondering because i fancy playing thru it again.

if they bring out an 80gb version they better ****** well offer an upgrade path for those who bought the 40!
 
the only reaosn iam not getting a PS3 is becasue of the lack of back comp on the 40 gig version. It may sound silly but my old ps2 is on its way out and i don't want to have 2 machines, already have dvd player and wii, too many things on the rack.
 
I care more about the lack of Super Audio CD support on the PS3 40gb. Shows how much of a console gamer I am nowerdays :(
 
Had a 60, got rid of it May 2007 then just got a 40 in December, couldn't care less for BC really, can just buy PS2 games and use them on my PC via emulation anyway.

No PS2 games I want to play so I'm good, bought it for PS3 games. :D

Picked it up when the PS3's were just released over here only because I got it for a really good price at the time. If I would have got one now I would have paid the same amount and ended up with a 40GB version. Glad I kept hold of the PS3 I've only really started to use it regularly within the past few weeks.
 
Can't say that I miss the lack of BC on my 40GB. Come to think of it can you miss the lack of something? ;)

WHY? Because when I bought the PS3 there was no backwards compatibility that's flaming well why?

So I get punished for buying their product. :rolleyes:

It's not like I got the 40 GB on sale I paid top dollar for it. I would have bought the 60GB but there were none on sale.

rubbish. you could have bought a 60gb earlier and got your ps2 compatibility. you certainly didnt pay top dollar for a 40gb when people with the launch consoles were paying £425.

lol @ getting angry because you paid less for a ps3 that had less features.

If you had abought a 40 gig one and sony didn't mention the fact they had dropped support for ps2 , then fair enough I would agree with you but they didn't so I can really see your argument to be quite honest with you :)
 
Yea its a bit like buying a standard impreza and the hate tem for the sti version. utter rubish. Mind you i find it hard to belive that the ps3 can not emulate ps2 games when it can use ps1
