You can now add Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution and Sonic Heroes from today's update.

Pretty damn good I think, even though I already own these on my PS2.

It's a shame VF4: Final Tuned never got a home console release since it could have been this version.

Like a standard PS2 game.

Really though, like the PSOne Classics, they are just the old games emulated and untouched.

The PS2 version of Sonic Heroes is an awful port of the Gamecube version though.

Does this mean all ps3 models do have the ability to run ps2 games or are these in some way modified to enable it?

Only wondering if this is the case as I'm in the mood for ffx again but don't want to wait for the HD remake

It just means they've recoded the PS2 games to work on the PS3. Probably via some form of emulation that needs to be modified for each game (or groups of games would probably be more accurate)

They must be recompiling the original source code to work on PS3 because I doubt a PS3 has the power for PS2 software emulation.

pretty much as expected, i do have a ps2 but its sat in my arcade cabinet for lightgun games and i dont really fancy standing while playing FFX
