PS2(Slimline) Disc Problems (Happens with all discs)

Hey all, i have quite a big annoying problem with my PS2. It happened straight after i stopped using it which was for about 4 weeks. I loaded up my PS2 but the disc wouldn't spin at all. I gave it 2 mins but still it didn't spin. I took the disc out and realised there was a thing popping out with a yellow strip joined to iT(also yellow), behind the circle where you pop your disc in. I pushed it back in and inserted the disc again and restarted my PS2 and what do you know, it works. So i play the game (pro evo) and when a goal is scored or the game has to stop for whatever reasons the same problem happens again so i take the disc out(not spinning) push the yellow thing back in and close the top and it spins and starts to work again, the next time it happens though it doesn't work at all so i have to restart my whole ps2 and after pushing the yellow thing back in it starts to work again, help is much appreciated.

Webcam/phone?

phone is in repair and i don't have a webcam. when you flip the tray open theres the circle where you pop the disc in, behind that theres a little thing that just pops out, if you pull it out it has a yellow strip connected to it. It might be on your PS2 if u have a slimline, don't know if its there on a normal PS2.

Update: sometimes it works for a really long time after pushing it back in but the next time i reset the PS2 the problem still exists.

it sounds like the ribbon cable that goes to the laser/disc drive.

is it coming out of its connection ?

or is it just blocking the disc from spinning ?

tape it down wichever answer to be honest

im thinking it needs a bit of slack to move depending on wether the laser is at the inside or outside of the disc too actually

tried to tape it but it keeps trying to push forward, disc spins still but everytime for eg on pro evo i kick the ball out of the grounds the game stops. tried to tape it but it keeps making nasty sounds and it goes forward anyway even if i do keep taping it down.
