ps2 vs ps3

Just to let you know, the OP's original question is hugely flawed.

Firstly the PS3 is obviously better than the PS2 at this point in time, better graphics, blu-ray, online and in general games have moved on and things like PS3 COD games are much better than PS2 COD games, provably so.

Now if you're trying to ask us to judge PS2 when it was in it's prime compared to the PS3 as it is now you are asking an impossible question. Firstly memory is not perfect, both information and emotions are corroded over time meaning you cannot always accurately judge how you felt about something in the past, the further back you go the harder this is. I'm also sure everyone has heard of the term 'rose tinted glasses' this is the exact thing I'm talking about.

Furthermore, even if you did accurately recall the feelings you had for those games of yesteryear the biggest factor is you. You have changed over the past 5 or 7 years, your likes, tastes, memories and body have all undergone changes meaning that you are a different person now to how you were in the hay day of the PS2.

This means that unless you can put forward technical or provable data to back up your claim of which is better your conclusion is extremely biased and innacurate.

Well with my memory pretty mcuh intact I can say for 100% fact.

I enjoyed

GTA3
GTA Vc
GTA SA

More than GTA4 and any ps3 game

I enjoyed

Pro evo soccer 1-6 more than any PS3 football game

I enjoyed MGS2 and MGS1 more than MGS4

I enjoyed resident evil 4 more than resident evil 5

I enjoyed Red faction 1 more than Red Faction on Ps3.

My memory is 100% on this believe me.

Now games like

Uncharted
Batman
Infamous
Mirrors Edge
Assasins creed 2
Just Cuase 2
Dead Space

I feel I got a lot off fun playing these but not as much fun as I had playing PS2 gta games or PES. I know this 100%....HOwever I enjoyed these games more than most other PS2 games.

PS3 for me. The fact that I also use it with PlayTV for freeview and as a BD/DVD player would probably be enough even if the games were naff.
However, they're not. I never really rated the FPS games on the PS2. I've really enjoyed playing games like Borderlands, Fallout and Oblivion on the PS3.

Then you have GT5. Sure, it was stupidly late, but for all that, actually felt like driving a car, unlike GT4, which felt like a computer game. I much prefer GT5, regardless of graphics.
